Double Points on Virgin Trains Ticketing

‘Virgin Trains Ticketing’ are offering double Virgin points on tickets to anywhere in Great Britain until 15th December 2024 for travel on any future date.  This means you can earn 6 points for every £1 spend. 
For anybody that isn’t aware Virgin Trains Ticketing is a train ticketing agency that allows you to book rail journeys across Great Britain with any train operator. It is obviously worth comparing prices with other train ticketing sites, for example, Uber often offer 10% back in Uber credit when booking through them with the option of earning Avios too. If you are trying to increase your Virgin Red balance and the price difference is marginal, this could be a good way to boost it. 
 

ITA Airways Double Points Promotion

ITA Airways is offering Volare members double points on select international routes. Every Volare member who books a return flight sold and operated by ITA Airways between 18th and 24th November 2024, and travels between 1st December 2024, and 28th February 2025, can earn double non-qualifying Volare points. This promotion applies to flights from Italy to Dubai, Bangkok, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, or Tokyo, and vice versa.

Double points are non-qualifying and will only be awarded for the outbound and return routes between Rome Fiumicino and the promotional destinations. If your itinerary includes other routes, such as a Milan-Rome-Dubai trip, double points will apply only to the Rome-Dubai segment.

ITA is due to be purchased by Lufthansa and become part of Star Alliance, but they are currently part of Sky Team, so points can be used for Virgin Flights, but not converted to Virgin Red points. 

Oman Air Oneworld Date Finally Announced

We spoke only last week about Oman Air’s alliance with Oneworld being delayed, but it has now been confirmed that 30th June 2025 will be the joining date. This is a whole year after it was expected to be but it is highly anticipated by many as it will be the third Middle East carrier to be part of Oneworld alliance. Oman Air is also considering adding a new top tier to its Sindbad rewards program to line up against Oneworld Emerald status which sounds very interesting. 

We are looking forward to this alliance and will definitely be looking to personally fly with Oman Air to experience it for ourselves. 

Qatar Airways Black Friday Deal

We are currently still waiting for information on the Qatar Black Friday Sale. Other countries seem to have been provided an offer for Privilege Club members that ranges from 15% to 30% depending on how many passengers are booking, however, the UK site has currently not been updated. We do know that the sale will be available for everybody on Friday 22nd November, so we will be bringing you an article with the very best deals we can find on that day.

  1. Oman Air will be the seventh Middle Eastern carrier to be part of an alliance. OneWorld already has Qatar and Royal Jordanian, Skyteam has Saudia and MEA, and Star Alliance has Turkish and Egyptair.
