FARE ROUND-UP: British Airways Quietly Cuts European Fares – We Take a Look

If, like us, you have searched for flights with BA in the past 12 months and been shocked by the exceptionally high fares, then this might be a nice surprise for you.

We wanted to do something a little different with today’s fare round-up. Rather than focusing on long-haul deals, we’ve taken a look at some of the best British Airways Economy and Club Europe fares currently available from London to popular European destinations.

We’ve been pleasantly surprised by just how competitive some of these prices have become recently, something we haven’t seen in a long time, especially from BA. Whether it’s down to softer post-summer demand or increased competition on certain routes, there are some excellent fares available if you’re planning a late summer getaway. 

Although I suspect that another reason is that BA is likely starting to feel the effects of the changes to the Club, which has lost them thousands of regular customers. 

For this round-up, we’ve searched for return fares throughout September, and there appeared to be good availability across much of the month. As always, prices are subject to availability and can change at any time.

The standout Economy fares include Milan and Palma from just £115 return, Prague from £118, Nice from £122, and Barcelona from £129. On the Club Europe side, there are some particularly attractive fares too, including Prague from £305 return, Palma from £336, Dubrovnik from £358, Naples from £379, and Nice from £385. 

While searching, we also spotted an Iberia Business Class fare from London Gatwick to Madrid for just £288 return. Although it isn’t included in the table below as we’ve focused on British Airways fares, it’s another great example of the competitive pricing currently available if you’re prepared to look around.
