Amex “Invite a friend” increased bonuses
American Express has launched a series of limited-time offers, including the return of the enhanced ‘invite a friend’ offer, with boosted Membership Reward points, Avios, and cashback offers across 11 Amex cards.
From today until 15 July, American Express has launched an enhanced ‘Invite a Friend’ offer across all eligible cards when existing Cardmembers successfully refer a friend. A range of offers are available across all eligible Cards, including the Platinum Card®, American Express ® Preferred Rewards Gold Card, American Express ® Rewards Credit Card and Cashback Cards

If you’re looking for a new card after the recent BA changes, the first-year annual fee has been waived on the Platinum Cashback Card. Until 15 July 2025, new Cardmembers will be exempt from the usual £25 annual fee and will receive 5% cashback up to £125 in the first three months of Card membership.

Cheap Eurostar hack
If you are looking for a way to bring down the price of the Eurostar without having to wait for a sale, you may be interested in the Eurostar Snap website. This Eurostar-owned website offers cheaper fares to those who can book close to the time and be flexible.
So, how does it work? You can book up to 14 days before travel or as late as the day before. You choose a date and time slot, invite up to three friends, and make your booking. The timeslots are pretty wide, such as 07:01 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 20:01, but vary depending on the location.
You can book as many times as you like, and you can travel both ways between:
Paris and Brussels
Paris and Amsterdam
Paris and Cologne
London and Brussels
London and Paris
London and Lille
London and Amsterdam
Eurostar will pick your train and send your train times at least 48 hours before travel. This can offer up to 50% off the normal prices. You are still eligible to earn Club Eurostar points too. The downside is that tickets are non-exchangeable, non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-cancellable. You also can’t select a seat or do a day trip with Snap.
Qatar buy bonus Avios
If you need to buy Avios to top up, then Qatar has launched a new buy bonus promotion. The offer has stepped bonuses and is available for purchases until 4 June 2025.
Here are the bonus amounts:
- 3000 – 10999 Avios – 25% bonus
- 11000 – 20999 Avios – 30% bonus
- 21000 – 250000 Avios – 50% bonus
The lower bonuses are not great, as it is very common to get 50% offers on other airlines such as BA or Aer Lingus, so it’s only worth buying now if you really need to at the lower amounts. You can instantly transfer them into your BA Club account if you want to book BA redemptions, provided you have linked your accounts.

Does make you wonder, aside from the current economic climate for example, that the increases in the Amex BA premium cards annual fee increase and the required £15k spend have deterred new applicants? I’m still going to attain 3 months early, but a lot tighter than before…
