BA 50% extra Avios & new route imminent?
50% extra Avios for online shopping
The easiest way to earn Avios is now online shopping with a far better rate of return than paying to flying BA! There is now a new early Black Friday offer that gives you 50% extra Avios on your online shopping for certain categories of stores. One of the best deals is Nord VPN with a whopping 62 Avios per £1 spent, although it looks like you don’t get the bonus on this category of stores.
Categories excluded: Travel, utilities and telecoms, banking and insurance plus the following merchants: The Bicester Collection, Royal Caribbean, Avios for Thoughts, The Wine Flyer, Avios Shop – The Edit products (incl. Apple & all travel luggage and accessories), Nectar, The High Life Shop, BP, Club Avolta, Uber, Hello Fresh, Wanda and eRewards. It also does not apply to in-store transactions, only online shopping.
The 50% bonus for John Lewis & Partners will only be available for transactions registered between 24 November and 7 December 2025. All other 50% bonuses are available from now until 28 December 2025.
You can find the Avios shopping portal here.
New route about to be announced?
An article in the Guernsey press has said that a new route between Heathrow and Guernsey is about to be announced with @SeanM1997 on X confirming that it is BA that is due to operate the route from Summer 26. Aurigny, who currently operate flights to Guernsey, has said that if it goes ahead, their Guernsey -London City route may have to cease, while other routes may see fair increases.
Sean Doyle, BA’s CEO speaks at Airlines 2o25

Speaking at the Airlines 2025 conference, CEO Sean Doyle confirmed that despite BA’s £7 billion investment plans, there would be no change from the current buy-on-board policy.
“We had free food for many years,” he said. “I think our model today works. Someone said to me a bad free food option is a lot worse than a good paid-for option.” Doyle did admit “it was very obvious a whole host of things needed to be transformed” at BA. This included technology, with a new “gamechanging” BA app due next year (which they have been talking launching for at least 2 years…), lounge revamps and BA’s premium cabins.
He said 74% of aircraft now had BA’s new business class, with its Boeing 787 fleet due to be refitted by the end of 2026 followed by Airbus A380s. He also indicated that if the budget brought increased costs for the carrier, it would mean an increase in fares. Doyle hinted that future routes or increased frequencies would likely involve India, which he believes would provide the biggest opportunity for BA in the next few years. “India’s economy is growing at 7% a year, I am very keen to keep our leadership.”

Guys, you were caught sleeping on the job here? ITA had 72 HR window for flash sale and you let us know with 18 hrs to go?
No sleeping here! Far from it.
If we reported every single time sensitive flash sale the second it goes live, TLFL would be extremely cluttered. Especially at this time of the year with Black Friday offers already dropping.
We curate every article to match the majority of our readers likes and needs and unfortunately ITA whilst great, isn’t the highest priority for what most people want to read.
