Amex Cashback for New Card Members
From 14 August 2024, new applicants for the Amex Cashback Everyday Credit Card will enjoy an enhanced welcome offer that boosts the cashback potential during the introductory period.
Under this new offer, cardmembers will earn 5% cashback on purchases up to £125, extended over a five-month period. This is an increase from the previous offer, which capped cashback at £100 over three months. The extension gives you an additional two months to take advantage of the 5% rate – the highest currently available on any UK credit card.
There’s no end date announced for this offer, which was initially trialled as a limited-time promotion earlier this year in February. So if you’re considering signing up, now is a great time to do so.
After the welcome period, the standard cashback rates kick in: 0.5% on spending up to £10,000 per year, and 1% on spending over £10,000. Plus, there’s no annual fee, and no limit on how much cashback you can earn, making it a solid choice for everyday spending.
And if you love sharing good deals with friends, you can also earn up to £150 in additional cashback through referrals. For each friend who successfully applies for the card, you’ll pocket an extra £20.

Air Canada London to Ottowa Route Reinstated
Air Canada has announced the return of its London (LHR) to Ottawa route next summer, offering four weekly flights starting from 31 March 2025. The service, available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, will be operated by a Boeing 787 aircraft, featuring three cabin classes for passengers.
While this route is currently planned as a summer-only service, the airline is considering the possibility of upgrading it to a year-round connection with increased frequencies. This will depend on the arrival of the new long-range A321XLR aircraft, expected towards the end of 2025.
For now, the London Heathrow to Ottawa service is scheduled to conclude on 25 October 2025. Find more information here.
