25% Off Reward Seats On All Virgin Atlantic Routes
Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic have teamed up to offer a 25% reduced points price when you buy a Virgin Atlantic reward seat between 28 September to 3 October 2023, for travel between 1 October and 31 December 2023.
All Virgin Atlantic routes are included in the sale and the sale is applicable to Economy, Premium and Upper Class reward seat bookings or upgrades booked during the offer period.
A reward seat is when you use Virgin Points to cover the full airfare of your Virgin Atlantic flight or upgrade, so all you need to pay for are the taxes, fees and carrier-imposed surcharges, – which vary according to destination, season and cabin. These can be very high – as much as £900 per person in Upper Class. However, you do get tier points on rewards flights with Virgin. An upgrade may work out better value on a cash ticket even after you have paid the additional taxes and charges as you would then earn some Virgin Points back as well on the cash part of the ticket.
To book, head over to the Virgin Atlantic website, where you can choose your destination and travel dates. Select ‘Show Price in Points’ under the ‘Advanced search’ followed by your desired cabin – either Economy, Premium or Upper Class. Finally, click the arrow and browse the reward seats available to you – at a 25% discounted points price.
70% bonus on Virgin Flying Club Points
Virgin has launched a new bonus when you buy Virgin Points. The Virgin Points purchase cap has also been raised, so Flying Club members can now purchase up to 200,000 points this year during the offer period.
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club members can earn up to 70% bonus when making a purchase until 3 October 2023. After that it reduces to 60% until 24 October 2023. I view a 70% bonus as a decent deal for Virgin Points as this is the largest bonus they regularly offer.
The bonus is staggered depending on how much you buy:
• < 5,000 — No Bonus
• 5,000 – 24,000: 20% Bonus
• 25,000 – 69,000: 40% Bonus
• 70,000 – 124,000: 60% Bonus
• 125,000 – 200,000: 70% Bonus
How to buy Virgin Points
- Login to your Flying Club account.
- Select ‘View My Account’.
- Select from the options ‘Buy, gift or transfer Virgin Points’.
Members will have the right to cancel any purchases of points for up to 14 days after the date of purchase provided that none of the purchased points have been redeemed. If any of the purchased points have been redeemed, the member will not be entitled to a refund for any of the purchased points, including those that have not been redeemed.
Every purchase comes with a one-off £15/$22 transaction fee.
