Royal Jordanian Status Match Is Back!

The Royal Jordanian status match offer is back! If you haven’t previously read about this offer, Royal Jordanian is offering you the chance to match your hotel or airline status (Not BA and only selected airlines) to Silver Jay or Gold Sparrow. Royal Jordanian is part of Oneworld, and Gold Sparrow status = Oneworld Sapphire, equivalent to BA Silver. The offer is available through StatusMatch.com. (Link here).

If you’re finding it hard to meet the requirements for BA Bronze/Silver – or another Oneworld airline, for that matter, you can now get automatic status for a fee as long as you meet the hotel or airline status requirements.

It’s worth noting that it’s not possible to pay to match Royal Jordanian Platinum Hawk Status (BA Gold).

The Cost

• $149 (£120.59) to match Gold Sparrow to your airline status.
• $49 (£39.66) to match Silver Jay to your airline status.
• $199 (£161.07) to match your hotel status to Gold Sparrow.
• $49 (£39.66) to match your hotel status to Silver Jay.

Hotel Status Match

There are fewer participating hotel brands than last year’s offer, but there’s still a good selection! To be eligible, you must have one of the following status levels:

• Marriott: Platinum, Titanium or Ambassador
• IHG: Diamond
• Accor: Diamond or Platinum
• Hilton: Diamond
• Hyatt: Globalist

Some lower status levels at hotels can also be matched to Silver Jay, equivalent to Oneworld Ruby and BA Bronze.

This is a fantastic deal if you have elite hotel status but don’t fly often enough to have collected enough tier points for BA status.

Once you have Gold Sparrow status, you’ll receive most of the benefits of BA Silver status, including BA lounge access for you + 1, use of the business class check-in desks, seat selection when booking, priority boarding and priority security. You’ll also receive these benefits across the entire Oneworld alliance.

TIP: If you opt for the AMEX Platinum Card, you will get instant Marriott Gold, Hilton Gold, MeliaRewards Gold and Radisson Rewards Premium. Your Marriott and Hilton status can be matched to Silver Jay (BA Bronze). You’ll need to stay fewer nights at Marriott or Hilton properties to gain Platinum/Diamond status, which would match Gold Sparrow (BA Silver).

Airline Status Match

You can also match your airline status instead of your hotel status. Some lower levels can also be matched to Royal Jordanian Silver Jay.

As you can see, airlines from Star Alliance and SkyTeam are listed here, meaning you can match either to Oneworld status and have elite status with two airline alliances!

Once you have matched your status, it will last 12 months!

How to Apply for a Status Match

First, you’ll need to sign up to Royal Jordanian. You can then apply for your status match here. Once you’ve applied, your status will be matched within five business days!

Royal Jordanian reserves the right to end this promotion at any time. The end date has not been published. There are a limited number of matches available. This offer will only be available until 22nd January at the latest. If you’re going to go for it, I recommend doing it today!
