New Qatar Airways offer
The good news is that airfares are definitely beginning to come down, and there have been some reasonable fares from Europe to Qatar recently. They also seem to have new offers popping up continually. The latest one promises up to 25% off which is impressive.
To get the discount you need to book between 31 July 2024 and 4 August 2024 for travel between 8 September 2024 and 15 June 2025 and use promo code SAVENOW.
You need to pay close attention to the terms and conditions:
- Up to 25% Savings (Booking classes R, P, Q, T, O, W):
- Origin Frankfurt across QR Network
- EUR (excl. FRA) to Hanoi, Beijing Capital Airport
- Up to 10% Savings (Booking classes D, I, K, M, L, V, S, N):
- Origin EUR across QR Network
- Up to 5% Savings (Booking classes R, P, Q, T, O, W):
- EUR (excl. FRA) across QR network (Excl. HAN, BJS)
So for the 25% off you need to fly from Frankfurt. It is also worth noting that the discount is only off the base fare, not the taxes and charges. All classes of travel are included.

Double Avios on flights with Aer Lingus
If you are not bothered about crediting your Aer Lingus flights to your BA Executive Club account to earn tier points, Aer Lingus is running a promotion for double Avios on certain flights.
You can collect double Avios when you fly from the United Kingdom to Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Shannon or Knock between 19th August and 30th September 2024. You also need to book by 5th August to get the deal.

Earn points with Virgin Wines
Virgin Red has announced that members can earn two Virgin Points for every £1 spent with Virgin Wines.
It is interesting that Virgin Wines is the third most popular reward on Virgin Red, following flights and holidays. There is a huge choice of rewards with Virgin Red, so personally I would rather spend my points on an experience but if you only have a few you want to use up, buying wine or something really small like a Greggs sausage roll is ideal.
10,000 Radisson bonus
If you are planning a stay at a Radisson anytime soon there is a very lucrative offer available for points. Even if you are not a member it could be worth joining as you would earn a good chunk of points with the offer.
When you book four nights or more at participating resorts, you earn 10,000 bonus points. You also have a long time to actually do the stay, although the downside is that the stay dates are over the winter. However, there are plenty of resorts outside Europe included in some winter sun destinations.
How it works:
- Be a Radisson Rewards member.
- Register for the promotion.
- Book your stay at any of the participating resorts before 15 September 2024.
- Stay at any of the participating properties from 27 October 2024 until 28 February 2025.

Agreed Polly, I looked at Edinburgh to Melbourne and with “discount” it is about £2000 more than ANA from London roughly speaking. Thats in “The Room” lux.
Hopefully the amount of discounting Etihad is doing will help drive prices down.

Yes but you would not get double avios if you credit them to your BA account which is what I was trying to say. You have to credit to Aer Club.
