The three-day ticket to the Singapore F1 Grand Prix – includes practice, qualifying and the race itself within a choice of three different grandstand locations. The headline price is for the Bay Grandstand. You will also have tickets to the after-race concerts, which feature world-class headline acts and a city tour’s included. Last years concerts featured Queen + Adam Lambert, Kylie Minogue and Bastille amongst others.
Hotel
Park Hotel Clarke Quay has a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence but is rated 4/5. The most common complaint seems to be the size of the rooms but this deal includes a deluxe room which is bigger than standard. The hotel is located in between the bustling Robertson Quay and Clarke Quay and is within easy reach of Singapore’s Formula 1 track and grandstands.
There are plenty of facilities in the hotel including the outdoor pool with city and river views and a spa with traditional Asian therapies. There is a shuttle bus to take you to Marina Bay for the world’s only night-time Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Flights
Singapore airlines is a highly regarded airline which has an overall 5* rating on Sky Trax and 4.5* for long haul economy. Their business class is particularly good which you can read about here. If you wanted Business Class seats the prices start from £3698.
Is it a good deal?
If we look at the prices booked direct individually we can see how good a deal this is. We will take the lowest price package as an example:
Flights on Singapore airlines (economy) : £476pp
Hotel room pp with 2 sharing in Deluxe room 4 nights: £550
Bay Grandstand 3 day ticket pp: £157
Total: £1183 Secret Escapes price: £1299
Saving = -£116 less than Secret Escapes price
Verdict: Although you get a few extras such as the city tour and transfers, they are not enough to justify the extra cost in my opinion.
If we look at business class it is a much better deal:
Flights on Singapore airlines (business) : £4153
Hotel room with 2 sharing in Deluxe room 4 nights: £550
Bay Grandstand 3 day ticket: £157
Total: £4860 Secret Escapes price £3698
Saving = £1162 more than Secret Escapes
Verdict: Like for like this is a really good deal. You could, however, get cheaper flights if you didn’t mind flying indirect. For example, Malaysian have the same dates for £1600 in business class which would make the total £2307.
