American Express currently have an offer for a £50 statement credit when you spend £195 at Guoman hotels. There is also an offer for Enjoy 2,000 bonus Avios when you stay at Claridges, The Connaught or The Berkeley this summer.

Who are Guoman hotels?
You probably haven’t heard of Guoman hotels unless you have stayed at one. They have a small group of Luxury London hotels comprising of The Royal Horseguards Hotel, The Grosvenor Hotel, The Tower Hotel and The Cumberland Hotel.
The Royal Horseguards is actually right opposite one of my favourite hotels, The Corinthia. Although I haven’t stayed there, it has a good reputation and a lovely terrace overlooking the London Eye. It is a couple of minutes walk to the Embankment tube and Waterloo is also walkable in about 15 minutes. TripAdvisor reviews are very good with 4.5/5 average score which you can read here.
The Grosvenor is a 4* hotel which also scores 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and is very handy for visiting Buckingham Palace. It is very close to Victoria Station and Tube. The other hotels do not get great reviews on TripAdvisor and look decidedly more downmarket.
What is the Amex Guoman offer?
The offer gives a £50 statement credit when you spend a minimum of £195 with Guoman. It is only available to the first 10,000 Cardmembers who save the offer to their Card. It was still available yesterday when I wrote this article. If you don’t have the offer on your card, you can phone or message and Amex and they will usually add it to your card for you.
You need to book, pay and stay by 29/09/2017. The offer is valid on checkout spend only for stays booked direct through Guoman. Food and drinks spend is excluded from the offer but given the average price of the hotels it shouldn’t be an issue.

Very handily, Guoman have a discounted package offer for the summer which starts at £195. The offer includes;

2000 Bonus Avios with 5* Maybourne Group Hotels
You may have had an email if you have a BA American Express car, inviting you to collect 2,000 bonus Avios when you stay at a Maybourne Hotel Group property. If not and you are interested, it is worth contacting Amex to see if you can get the same offer.
The offer is for stays between 17 July and 10 September 2017 at any Maybourne Hotel. Maybourne Hotel Group include some of the most luxurious and iconic hotels in London. The 3 properties are the Connaught, Claridges and The Berkeley. To qualify for the bonus you will need to spend £300 or more on your British Airways American Express Card at any of the Maybourne Hotel Group properties.
