New Conrad for Costa del Sol near Estepona
Hilton hotel group has announced the signing of an agreement to open the Conrad Costa del Sol – a 194 room luxury resort set to bring contemporary luxury to the Andalusian coast. The property – owned by Markway Inversiones S.L., a company of the Platinum Estates Group, will be managed by Hilton and is set to open at the beginning of 2022. It will be Hilton’s first Conrad property in Spain. The nearest airports will be Malaga which is just over an hour from the resort and Gibraltar which is 40 minutes drive. The hotel will be built on the site of the Doña Julia hotel in Casares.

Conrad Costa del Sol will boast stunning sea views from its vantage point in the Andalusian hills, with spacious contemporary guestrooms and expansive luxurious facilities including a large spa with indoor pool, multiple outdoor pools, two bars and a high-end restaurant. The Costa del Sol’s vast coastline, which is home to more beaches than any other area of the Andalucía region, is a five-minute drive away.
The Costa del Sol attracts millions of international and domestic tourists each year, with visitors drawn to its sandy coastline, glamourous harbours and charming remote villages. The area benefits from excellent rail and air connections to the rest of Spain, Continental Europe and the UK from Malaga, which is located just over an hour from the resort.
Hilton Garden Inn Heathrow complete million-pound renovation
There is plenty of choice of Hilton hotels at Heathrow, but the best value for money has always been the HGI near Hatton Cross Tube. This used to be Paul’s hotel of choice until he defected to Hyatt last year. I was never a fan because as well as being cheap, it looked it! My preferred Hilton is usually the HGI at Terminal 2 due to its proximity but it is a lot more expensive. Now that they have refurbished the Hatton Cross HGI, I may be more willing to give it a try! Normally they do not give upgrades either for Diamond members, so it will be interesting if that now happens with the addition of the Deluxe King rooms.
The Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Airport Hotel has completed a £4.2m in which all bedrooms have now been refurbished, with 205 undergoing a light refurbishment and 159 undergoing a full refurbishment and upgrade to deluxe king rooms. These Deluxe rooms offer a larger en-suite bathroom. All rooms have new headboards, lighting and soft furnishings.
The reception, restaurant, bar, and gym have also been renovated. The reception area includes the addition of a new shop area that offers takeaway food, drinks travel essentials.
The HGI is also the first UK hotel to receive the Certificate of Assurance from Bureau Veritas for its measures in response to Covid-19 prevention.
