British Airways open another lounge
BA has announced that it has now opened the Heathrow T5 Club lounge North until 2pm daily in addition to the South Club and First lounges (and the Concorde Terrace). You can read about the current lounge experience in this article.
15% off Booking.com and BA bonus of 10 Avios per ยฃ1 spent on Booking.com
Booking.com can sometimes have better rates than other hotel sites and most of their hotels can be cancelled. To get the best deals, make sure you sign up for an account (free) and sign in when you book. You will also get sent offers which can be quite generous.

If you book through the BA e-shopping portal there is currently a bonus on booking.com where you get 10 Avios per ยฃ1 instead of the usual 4 Avios spent. It says that you may not get the Avios or only a certain number of Avios if you use it with a voucher. So there is a risk you may not get the Avios with the 15% off. However, there is nothing to lose by giving it a try!
IHG hotels 50% off when you stay 2 nights
Book between 3rd of August 2020 โ 24th August 2020 for two-night stays at participating Europe IHG branded hotels to receive a discount of 50% off the Best Flexible Rate. There is a long stay period from now up to and inclusive of 30th April 2021. The bad news is that you have to pay a full non-refundable deposit to secure the stay. So it’s not really 50% off as with the Best Flexible rate you would of course be able to cancel. It is still a good deal, especially since hotel rates can be lower than usual at the moment anyway. You can book up to one day in advance of staying so you could wait until there last minute if you are concerned with whether you will travel or not if it is before the booking period ends.
