Emirates ramps up flights
With the recent announcements of the UAE easing entry protocols for 12 countries, and the UK adding the UAE on its ‘amber list’, Emirates is actively responding to the spike in travel demand across its network by scaling up its operations.
The airline will be restoring capacity across 29 cities on its network on over 270 flights as well as fine-tuning its schedules to boost frequencies and capacity.
Expansion of services to/from the UK
By October, the airline will increase its services to 73 weekly flights to the UK, including a six times a day London Heathrow operation; double daily A380 flights to Manchester, ten weekly services to Birmingham and daily services to Glasgow.
From today, Emirates will begin serving London Heathrow with three daily flights, all operated by its flagship A380. Throughout August and September, Emirates will gradually increase its operations to London Heathrow, and by the middle of October, the airline will have restored its operations to six daily flights, of which four will be served by the A380. The multiple daily flights served by the airline’s flagship A380 will provide significant connection opportunities to one of the highest demand leisure and business markets in the world.
A mile a minute
Emirates is also doing a rather unique promotion for Emirates Skywards members who visit Dubai at the time of the Expo this autumn. For every minute you spend in Dubai, Emirates will give you one mile. Sadly they have capped this at 5,000 points so you can’t go for a month and then earn enough to fly First for the rest of your life! The promotion is available for visits from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.
You can earn the bonus Miles when you register before 31 March 2022, for travel between 1 October 2021 and 31 March 2022. Register online, through the Emirates App or give them a call. You can also call to register Skywards Skysurfers and they can earn Miles on your family trip.

Emirates has launched a new option for its loyalty programme with Skywards+ packages with personalised benefits to suit the needs of each individual member. This is quite a clever option with people generally flying less. Prices are not cheap, but probably much cheaper than actually earning status. To decide if it’s worth paying you will need to work out how often you would use the benefits such as the lounge access which if you fly business class mainly, would be fairly pointless. The upgrade discount and fast track to maintain status may be more valuable for people that want to maintain their status or usually upgrade their flights.
Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Tier members can subscribe to one of the following: Classic Package, at an annual subscription rate of USD 399; Advanced Package, at an annual subscription rate of USD 699; and Premium Package at an annual subscription rate of USD 999.
The Classic Package will offer members: 20 percent bonus Skywards Miles; access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge twice a year; and 5 Kgs of extra baggage allowance. It costs £289 per year.
The Advanced Package will offer members: 20 percent discount on upgrade rewards (using miles); 10 Kgs of extra baggage allowance or 1 additional piece for checked baggage*; and access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge five times a year. It costs £505 per year.
The Premium Package will offer members a chance to fast-track and retain tier status quicker with: 20 percent Tier Miles bonus; 20 percent discount on flight upgrades; access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge ten times a year; and 10 Kgs of extra baggage allowance or 1 additional piece of checked baggage. It costs £722 per year.

Do you know if it is still possible to purchase Emirates flights with Qantas flight numbers? If yes, from which retailer?
Yes technically you can but obviously they need to be flying the route. The easiest way would be through Qantas. Otherwise any online travel agent should offer it. Google flights is a good starting point to filter by airline. They only do it on certain routes, mainly in Asia.

Surely you were paid to write such a wild claim, a claim that screams advertising.
I only wish I was paid to write articles by airlines. Last year before UAE was red, London Dubai was one of the busiest routes in the world.
Yeah that route was one of the busiest due to a mix of O&D pax as well as transits. Dubai is a transit point more so than a destination hence your statement that it is one of the highest leisure and business markets in the world is just misleading and sways more towards your blog seemingly to be more of an advertising mouthpiece for a foreign govt.
