The New Priority Pass+ App is Rolling Out: Here’s What You Need to Know

Priority Pass is gradually rolling out its new Priority Pass+ App, bringing trip planning, lounge bookings and improved security together in one place.

This article has been sponsored by Priority Pass

The new app introduces a more connected travel experience where you can plan your journey, manage your membership, and access travel benefits before you travel.

Priority Pass has expanded in recent years and now includes access to over 1,900 lounges, spas, sleep pods, restaurants and more. As those benefits have grown, so too has the need for an app that brings everything together in one place.

Why a New App?

Until now, the Priority Pass App has primarily provided two main services: storing your digital membership card and finding participating lounges.

While this continues to work well, the way people travel has changed. Many of us use our phones for everything, from checking in for flights and storing boarding passes to booking airport extras and receiving real-time travel updates.

The new Priority Pass+ App has been designed around the shift towards a more connected, digital-first travel experience.

What to Expect

Development of the new app has focused on three main areas:

  • A more connected airport experience
  • Easy membership management
  • Improved security and digital payments

A More Connected Airport Experience

The Priority Pass+ app (PP+) brings together much more than your membership card and a guide to participating lounges. You can now plan and manage more of your airport journey in one place.

Perhaps the top improvement is the ability to pre-book lounge access at over 250 lounges and selected airport experiences within the app. This has already been a feature at selected locations, but expanding this will make planning much easier, so you can secure a space at the lounge rather than turning up to find it’s already at capacity.

You’ll also be able to search for available lounges and other airport experiences in the same interface, making it easier to plan your time at the airport.

PP+ has a new Trips feature which introduces personalised journey planning so you can organise your upcoming travel within the app. You can keep your airport plans together and access travel benefits more easily.

Easy Multi-Membership Management

Eligible Priority Pass memberships can now be viewed and managed from a single account. You can now easily switch between benefits without logging in and out of different accounts. If you have more than one bank account, credit card or pass, this will make things much simpler.

Getting started is also simpler, with an easier activation process that gets you up and running quickly.

Improved Security and Digital Payments

The app also features biometric login and email or mobile one-time password verification.

This, in turn, makes access much easier and more secure. Anything that reduces the number of passwords and steps involved is a welcome change.

Just the Beginning

PP+ today is the foundation for what’s to come.

Further improvements will be launched over time, including:

  • A wallet-enabled digital membership card
  • Improvements to the Trips functionality
  • AI-led support
  • More digital servicing improvements

These upcoming features sound particularly promising. A wallet-enabled card will make your Priority Pass membership even easier to use, while continued improvements to the Trips feature should make the PP+ app even more intuitive and better tailored to your travel plans.

How to Access the Priority Pass+ App

For a limited period, the existing Priority Pass app and Priority Pass+ will run alongside one another while the rollout continues. As the rollout progresses, PP+ will become the primary digital experience.

When the app is available in your region or market, you can download the new app and log in with your existing account details without needing to re-register. There is clear in-app guidance to support a smooth transition; however, as the rollout progresses in a phased approach, members will be updated by their credit card/bank on when it’s available for them.

You can then start using the new features while continuing to access your existing membership benefits as normal.

This is a very straightforward transition in comparison to many app migrations we’ve experienced elsewhere!

Membership Options

In addition to being available on a number of credit cards and bank accounts, you can purchase a Priority Pass membership as follows.

Final Words

The Priority Pass+ app introduces a number of welcome improvements, some of which have become increasingly important as the way we plan and book journeys using our phones evolves.

We particularly like the addition of multi-membership management for eligible memberships and the introduction of the pre-booking option. Likewise, integrating lounge reservations, airport experiences, and payments into a single app should make planning considerably more convenient and make journeys simpler. Planned improvements also suggest lots more to come.

It’s worth noting that everything we have written about applies only to eligible Priority Pass memberships. This does not apply to LoungeKey cardholders.
