NEWS & OFFERS: Qatar Avios bonuses galore, IHG 30% off and two new Amex offers for SLH and WorldHotels

Qatar Privilege Club Avios bonuses

Qatar has several Avios bonuses at the moment, no doubt to stimulate bookings amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. We wrote about the double Avios promotion here.

There is also a triple Avios offer when you book a Flight + Hotel package with Qatar Airways Holidays using promo code QRHAVIOS and collect 3x Avios. You also get 4 nights for the price of 2 at selected hotels and resorts.

The offer is valid on bookings made between 24 July and 8 August 2026 for travel until 31 March 2027. Travel must be completed by 31 March 2027. You will earn 3 Avios for every 1 USD (or USD equivalent) spent on holiday packages. This is in addition to any Avios earned on the flights. Members who use Cash + Avios as a payment method are still eligible to earn bonus Avios.  

The offer is only valid on Flight + Hotel packages (including extras) to any destination and Stay 4 Nights, Pay for 2 packages. There must be a flight included. Add-on services such as transfers or tours will also be counted towards earning Avios if booked along with a flight plus hotel package. Qatar Stopover packages, sports packages, hotels and any other leisure product not mentioned in theoffer are not included.

Up to 24,000 Avios bonus per round-trip on flights

Finally, it’s the last chance to book flights to Australia with Qatar and get up to a 24,000 Avios bonus per round-trip on flights between Doha and Australia. To qualify, you must book your flights by Wednesday, 29 July 2026 for travel completed by 31 March 2027. 

The bonus structure rewards you based on the cabin class you fly, calculated per one-way sector (meaning you get half the bonus each way): 

• Business and First Class: 12,000 bonus Avios each way (24,000 Avios total for a round-trip).
• Economy Comfort: 6,000 bonus Avios each way (12,000 Avios total for a round-trip).
• Economy Classic / Convenience: 3,000 bonus Avios each way (6,000 Avios total for a round-trip). 

Key Requirements:

• Eligible Airlines: Flights must be marketed by Qatar Airways and operated by either Qatar Airways or Virgin Australia. 
• Eligible Routes: Travel must be between Doha (DOH) and any of the six designated Australian cities: Melbourne (MEL), Sydney (SYD), Brisbane (BNE), Perth (PER), Adelaide (ADL), or Canberra (CBR).
• You must book revenue tickets directly online through Qatar’s website or the Qatar Airways mobile app. Award tickets booked with points are excluded.
• Membership: Ensure your Privilege Club membership number is added to the booking prior to travel.
• The bonus miles will automatically credit to your account within 7 to 14 days after your flight is completed.

IHG 30% off

IHG One Rewards members can save 30% at participating brands across Europe and China. You need to book by 2 August 2026 and stay between 31 July – 13 September 2026.

The good news is that you don’t need to pay in advance and can book up to 3 days before your stay. You can cancel up to 7 days before; after that, there’s a one-night cancellation penalty within seven days of stay.

There are some good quality hotels in the UK, including both Intercontinentals in London and Kimpton Fitzroy London. There’s also the InterContinental Dublin and Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport.

New American Express cashback offers for SLH and WorldHotels

There are two new Amex offers for hotels which may be worth checking out if you are planning to book a hotel soon. Mine are on the BA Premier Plus Amex, but it is always worth checking all your cards. You will need to save these offers to your card before the qualifying purchase to get the statement credit.
