If you have never used the BA or Avios eStore to collect Avios, April may be the time to start with more good deals. For those familiar with Top Cashback, eStore works in the same way. You just use the eStore link to go to the usual retail website and shop as normal. You will need to consider which is the better deal, Avios or Top Cashback. Currently you can transfer Top cashback into Avios with a 25% bonus. Therefore it may actually work out a better deal to get the cash and convert it into Avios rather than use the eStore.
Marks and Spencers
If you are not familiar with Viator, it is basically an on-line tour company. It is now part of the TripAdvisor group of companies and is probably one of the largest tour companies in the world. Viator sells tours from many different operators. You will usually find if there is a tour you want to do, it will probably be on Viator. I have used them a lot and I like the fact that most tours do not require a paper ticket, just an e-ticket on your phone. You can book on-line or through their app.
Viator do everything from airport transfers to helicopters tours and wine tasting. They even do theme park tickets. I used them most recently in Paris to do a Champagne river cruise. This involved tasting 3 different Champagnes from small producers whilst we sailed down the Seine at sunset – sounds terrible doesn’t it? The whole booking process was simple and quick.
Avios have an excellent deal if you book before 30 April 2017. You will get 14 Avios per £1 spent (normally 7 Avios per £1 spend). Simply book through the Avios eStore (it’s not on BA). There is also a special offer through Viator to sign up for their emails on your first purchase and get 10% off.
Avis have a promotion with both ba.com and Avios eStore for 20% off car hire bookings for the US and Canada. This includes Avios only bookings, Avios plus cash or cash only bookings which also allow you to collect Avios. You must book by 30th April 2017, and pick up the car by 31st December 2017.
