To celebrate the New Year we will be giving away Hilton Honors Gold Status to one lucky reader. The competition will run until midnight on Sunday 3 January 2021. You can enter at the bottom of the page.

What do you get with Hilton Gold Status?

Normally to get Hilton Gold status you would need 20 stays, 40 nights or 75,000 Hilton Honors Base Points but TLFL is giving this away free. The benefits I value most for this is the free breakfast which can be worth a lot in somewhere like a Conrad and the room upgrades.

How else can you get Hilton Honors Gold?

If you don’t win there are several other ways you can get Hilton Honors Gold status without staying with Hilton for the required amount of nights. If you take out an American Express Platinum card this comes with Hilton Gold status along with several other hotel statuses. Similarly, the Founders card which is not a credit card but a paid for card which gets you exclusive benefits also comes with Hilton Gold. Finally, you could also try a status match with Hilton if you have status with another hotel chain. You can apply for a status match on this page.

    As a gold member of Marriott rewards for some years now it may be time to defect as since their acquisition their room upgrades are occasional and the free breakfast absent !
