Marriott Bonvoy Launches Summer Flash Sale – Save Up to 25%

Marriott Bonvoy has unveiled a limited-time summer flash sale, offering travellers the chance to save up to 25% on weekend getaways across more than 6,500 participating hotels and resorts worldwide. Destinations include Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Hong Kong.

To take advantage of the offer, bookings must be made by Sunday, 8 June 2025, for stays between Monday, 9 June and Sunday, 6 July 2025.

Members of Marriott Bonvoy can enjoy 20% off the standard room rate when booking online or via Marriott’s reservation centres. However, the best deal is reserved for those who book through the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app, where members receive an exclusive 25% discount. If you’re not yet a member, it’s free to join, and the savings make it well worth it.

While the promotion is geared towards weekend stays, there’s added flexibility: from 28 June to 6 July, the discount applies to all days of the week, making it a perfect opportunity to plan a longer summer break.

The offer requires prepayment at the time of booking and is non-refundable, so you’ll need to be sure of your plans. A minimum of five days’ advance booking is also required, and availability is limited. The promotional code QRI should be quoted if booking by phone or online outside the app.

Do note that the promotion excludes some of Marriott’s most luxurious brands, such as St. Regis, The Ritz-Carlton, Edition, Bulgari, and Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. Certain JW Marriott and W Hotels in Hong Kong are also not participating.

Earn Double Virgin Points on Rail Travel with Virgin Trains Ticketing

Virgin Trains Ticketing, Virgin’s rail booking platform, is currently offering double Virgin Points on all train ticket purchases made by 30 June 2025, regardless of your travel date.

Usually, Virgin Trains Ticketing offers 3 Virgin Points per £1 spent, but for the rest of the month, that’s doubled to 6 points per £1. With Virgin adding more and more ways to collect and spend points, it’s worth collecting bonuses where you can.

What is Virgin Trains Ticketing?

Launched in 2021 as part of the Virgin Red rewards programme, Virgin Trains Ticketing is now a standalone smartphone app. It lets you book tickets for any train journey across Great Britain with no booking fees, and rewards you in the process.

The app offers:

  • Split ticketing options that can significantly reduce fares, an average saving of £14 per journey

  • Access to the same prices you’d find elsewhere (as long as the train company doesn’t offer exclusive web-only discounts)

  • Virgin Points that can be redeemed on travel, flights, hotel stays, wine, experiences, and more via Virgin Red

Virgin Trains Ticketing is a competitive and rewarding way to book train travel, especially during this limited-time double points promotion. The ability to earn six Virgin Points per pound, combined with split ticketing and no booking fees, makes it a compelling choice for rail travellers this summer.

To learn more or book your next journey, download the Virgin Trains Ticketing app or visit the Virgin Trains Ticketing website.

Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card Now Offering 30,000 Bonus Points

Hilton has launched a new limited-time offer on its Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card, giving new cardholders the chance to earn 30,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points when they spend £2,500 in foreign currency within six months of opening the card. The promotion is available until 14 August 2025 and marks the first-ever welcome bonus offered on the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card.

At the same time, there’s also a refreshed offer on the standard Hilton Honors Debit Card, which now comes with half-price annual fee for the first year and a smaller bonus for lighter spenders.

Quick Recap: What Are the Hilton Honors Debit Cards?

Launched in partnership with Currensea, the Hilton Honors debit cards are the world’s first hotel loyalty debit cards. Unlike credit cards, they connect directly to your existing UK bank account and can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, making them accessible for travellers who want to earn points without borrowing.

You earn Hilton Honors points on everyday spend, benefit from competitive foreign exchange rates, and unlock instant Hilton Honors status—Silver on the standard card, and Gold on the Plus version.

Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card – £150/year

  • Limited-time welcome bonus: 30,000 points for spending £2,500 in foreign currency within 6 months (ends 14 Aug 2025)

  • Instant Hilton Honors Gold status

  • Earn rate: Up to 4.5 points per £1 on eligible spend

  • FX benefits: No foreign transaction fees (real-time Mastercard rates)

  • ATM withdrawals abroad: Fee-free up to £500/month, 2.5% thereafter

  • Point Booster: Earn 1 point for every 1p rounded up

Gold status comes with free breakfast or food & beverage credit, room upgrades, late check-out, and bonus pointson stays—making it a valuable benefit for regular Hilton guests.

Hilton Honors Debit Card – £60/year (£30 for the first year)

If you’re looking for a lower-cost option, the standard Hilton Honors Debit Card now offers:

  • Limited-time welcome bonus: 2,500 points for spending £500 in foreign currency within 3 months

  • Annual fee: £60, reduced to £30 for the first year (ends 14 Aug 2025)

  • Instant Hilton Honors Silver status

  • Earn rate: Up to 3 points per £1 on eligible spend

  • FX benefits: 0.5% fee on foreign spend (real-time Mastercard rates)

  • ATM withdrawals abroad: 0.5% up to £250/month, then 2.5%

  • Point Booster: Earn 1 point for every 1p rounded up

Silver status still includes free bottled water, late check-out, Fifth Night Free on reward stays, and elite rollover nights—solid benefits for infrequent or budget-conscious travellers.

Should You Consider One?

These debit cards offer something genuinely different. The Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card is best for frequent travellers who want the comfort of Gold status and plan to spend abroad regularly, specially given the no FX fees and 30,000-point bonus currently on offer.

Meanwhile, the standard Hilton Honors Debit Card is ideal for anyone looking to boost their Hilton points on everyday spending, with lower fees, a modest welcome bonus, and Silver status baked in for as long as you hold the card.

You can find our full round up on these cards here.

Checking out the new No 1 lounge at @heathrow_airp Checking out the new No 1 lounge at @heathrow_airport T2. Very impressed with the elegant feel to the lounge. It’s definitely a step up from the older style of No1. I’d go as far to say that it looks better than quite a few airline lounges. All drinks are included apart from champagne and there was a good selection of tasty food as well. Full review coming soon. #airportlounge #heathrowairport #luxurytravel #no1lounge
