Booking.com, one of the world’s leading digital travel companies, is one of the latest partners to join Virgin Red – Virgin’s new rewards club.
To encourage holidaymakers to make up for lost time, the Booking.com flash sale starts tonight (Thursday 23 September), saving customers at least 30% off certain UK and European stays. If you make the booking via Virgin Red, you will earn 12 Virgin Points per £1 spent when booking stays in the UK and Europe before 30 September 2021. This is better than the BA rate which is currently 8 Avios per £1 spent with booking.com.
The discount of at least 30% will apply to select properties in the UK and Europe for bookings made between 9pm BST on Thursday 23 September and 9am BST on Saturday 25 September, so members better hurry and book within the 36 hour period to make the most of the best rates.
Members who choose to book via Virgin Red during (or after) the flash sale will also earn Virgin Points to spend on more than 150 rewards, across five different reward categories. By earning 12 points per £1 on a five-night stay in Cornwall for example, with the accommodation costing between £500 and £800, members could earn enough points to book a free flight to a European city, a Mustang driving experience, tickets to a comedy night out, a paintball experience for four friends or a three-course meal for two at a Raymond Blanc brasserie. I recently booked seats to Pete Tong in Manchester with Virgin points in the Virgin Suite there.
Meanwhile, members with an accommodation budget of around £1,500-£2,000 could soon be booking a free flying lesson, a spa day for two, an astronaut experience or a flight to New York.
Existing Booking.com customers get the best of both worlds – they’ll be able to access their Genius benefits, as well as being able to earn Virgin Points, on top of the flash sale.
