Air France experience and pop-up restaurant

If you are headed to Paris this summer, you may want to try Air France’s pop-up restaurant in the French capital. The restaurant will serve the airline’s long-haul business class food.

From 27 July to 11 August 2024, Air France is inviting everyone to explore the airline within the walls of the Palais de Tokyo, a famous Parisian cultural institution located close to sites hosting many sporting events, such as the Grand Palais Ephémère, the Eiffel Tower, and the Esplanade des Invalides. Visitors of all ages will be able to access the site free of charge, which will span an area over 850 sq. m dedicated to the company.

The focal point will be the Air France restaurant which will have a seating capacity of 80 and offer a dining experience, “just like on board.” This pop-up restaurant will offer the same food as usually served on board Air France’s long-haul Business cabin. It’s a bit pricey at €85 but that does include alcohol which makes it a lot more reasonable if you drink.

Triple Michelin-starred French chef Arnaud Lallement will oversee the restaurant’s à la carte menu. There will be a selection of meat, poultry, fish or vegetarian options with the menu changing in August. The menu will feature desserts signed by Nina Métayer, recently voted World Pastry Chef in 2024 by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards. A selection of wines, champagnes and a wide choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be on offer. With an appetizer, starter, main dish, a cheese selection and dessert, each “French-style” meal will be served in tableware specially created for Air France by designer Jean-Marie Massaud, in a setting similar to that on board the plane, integrating the airline’s Business meal tray.

There will also be exhibition areas, with the iconic red dress with a never-ending train, designed by Rabih Kayouz and featured in the Air France brand video. You can also try out the company’s latest Business cabin, equipped with a new sliding door. There will also be the opportunity to visit the cockpit of an A350 via a virtual reality experience.

New ranges of Air France Shopping products soon to be unveiled will also be on sale exclusively in this dedicated space. And finally, there will be a competition to win two long-haul tickets in Business class to a destination in the company’s networ*.

Air France at the Palais de Tokyo, 13 avenue du Président Wilson, 75016 Paris. Free admission from 10.30am to 6pm, from 27 July to 11 August, 2024. The Air France restaurant, by reservation, from 11.30am to 3pm. Single menu at 85 euros, including alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks.

Get up to $150 per night at luxury Hiltons

Mango House LXR Seychelles

Hilton are running a few different promotions for their luxury brands which consist of Conrad, Waldorf Astoria and LXR hotels. The first is one where you get an extra night free which can be booked through our luxury travel agent partners GTC and includes extra free perks such as upgrades, double Hilton points and $100 hotel credit.

The other offer is available directly through Hilton and offers up to $150 hotel credit per night.

Conrad Bora Bora

Hotel credits are earned per room, per stay. For each completed night, a US$150 hotel credit will be awarded for properties in the US, a £100 credit will be awarded for properties in the United Kingdom, a €150 credit will be awarded for properties in Europe. Credit will be applied to guest folio at time of checkout. For properties outside of the U.S., UK, and Europe, the prevailing exchange rate equivalent of $150 in local currency (as determined by the property) will be applied to the folio. Credit can be used towards certain hotel charges, excluding room rates, corresponding taxes, and select activities as determined by the property. It is not 100% clear what is or isn’t included, but certainly, spa, food, and drink are part of the credit. If you need to be sure exactly what you can spend it on,  I would check with the hotel or Hilton beforehand.

The US Hilton luxury helpdesk can help with queries on 1-800-925-3673 if you quote “LRM Exclusive Credit”.

You can book the hotels via the offer page here.

Get 15 Avios per £1 on hotels

There is a BA hotel booking engine where you can earn and redeem Avios called Avios hotels. Generally, it is bad value for money to use Avios for hotels, although with the high prices of hotels in some destinations, it is worth considering. However, it can be a good way to rack up a good amount of Avios quickly.

Other companies offer this, such as Kaligo and Rocketmiles, so it could be worth comparing the rates across the three sites. Even if prices are slightly higher than you could get elsewhere, it may be worth the effort as a cheap way to “buy” Avios, although you won’t get them until after your stay (up to 30 days after). Obviously, if you book a hotel where you collect points or have status, the usual benefits will not apply.

There is a special offer for 15 Avios per £1 spent up from the usual 10 per £1 spent via the BA shopping website which you can find here.

The offer is for booking by 30 June 2025.

This is good news, particularly now that Hotels.com is losing its rewards and changing to One Key I think it’s called. I use them all the time but the benefits are being decimated. Thanks for this info, Michelle.

I was taken by surprise by @queenelizabetholympicp I was taken by surprise by @queenelizabetholympicpark and Stratford. I went to review the @hyattlondonstratford Regency hotel but was surprised at how easy it was to get there and get around London so easily. There’s so much on the doorstep from the Westfield shopping centre to the @londonaquaticcentre where Tom Daley trains. There’s a huge restaurant scene here with every sort of cuisine you can think of. I loved all the outdoor terraces to. I ate at Alpine restaurant @haugenldn and was impressed with the range of dishes from wild mushroom rosti to fondue. There’s also a great roof terrace. Those flying in First class or holding Gold Guest List or Premier status can access the exclusive lounge. The machine precision weighs each ingredient in a special “Turbine” martini recipe from top class mixologist @mrlyan Although the recipe calls for Aviation Gin you can substitute it for another gin or vodka.
