Qatar Airways offers flexible bookings but cuts A380 operations

Obviously, the Middle East airlines are currently in survival mode thanks to the Iran war. While the airlines are back flying again, understandably, there is a lot of reluctance for people to book with them. Etihad has taken the approach of offering some very competitive fares, Qatar is offering a much more flexible booking policy than usual.
Bookings made with a travel date until 15 June 2026 will be eligible for a range of options, including a refund of the unused ticket value or complimentary date changes for travel by 31 October 2026 on Qatar Airways flights.
The airline has cut over 12,000 flights in April and May as well as grounding its eight A380 aircraft for the moment. They are still all in Doha rather than long-term storage, so hopefully, once the region stabilises, they can be brought back into service quickly.
Nectar competition to win 1 million Nectar points

As well as a special bonus on Nectar to Avios conversions and vice versa, they have now launched a new competition with 5 prizes worth 1 million Nectar points each. This translates into 625,000 Avios at the usual rate of 400 Nectar points to 250 Avios.
To be in with a chance of winning, you need to connect to Nectar at the checkout stage when you order from Sainsbury’s on Deliveroo by 21 April 2026.
If you have already connected your Nectar card to Deliveroo, then you just need to place a Sainsbury’s order via Deliveroo. I hadn’t realised you could get Nectar points via Deliveroo orders so if you are likely to use them for an occasional Sainsbury’s shop, it’s worth adding your Nectar card.
The more orders you do, the more entries into the draw you get. Obviously, there are a number of fees for Sainsbury’s deliveries on Deliveroo, but if you need a shop in a hurry or can’t get a slot, it can be very useful. Each order gives you one entry, and the minimum spend is only £1, excluding fees.
