More Heathrow terminal changes
Yesterday I wrote about how Delta were moving terminals at Heathrow in 2028, much to Virgin’s dissatisfaction.
Now more moves have been revealed, which will have a major impact on oneworld travellers. One of the greatest pleasures of travelling with oneworld from Heathrow has been when you depart from T3 and can choose from a plethora of lounges, some of which are really great, such as the Cathay lounge. Now, this will be changing for those flying Finnair and JAL.
Here are the further changes we know about:
- Finnair: From Terminal 3 to Terminal 4
- Japan Airlines: From Terminal 3 to Terminal 4
- China Southern: From Terminal 4 to Terminal 5
- LATAM: From Terminal 3 to Terminal 2
Terminal 4 already has Qatar Airways in situ, which has a lounge. This could be great news for those travelling in First and Business on Finnair and JAL since they are currently allowed access to the Qatar Premium lounge at T4, which I rate pretty highly. However, for those travelling economy with oneworld status, this would be a significant downgrade, as they would only be able to use the Qatar Frequent Flyer lounge, which is not nearly as good. A new lounge could be introduced, but given the fairly small number of passengers on Finnair and JAL each day, that seems unlikely, especially since both premium passengers and status holders can also use the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge.
China Southern seems an odd choice to join T5 but I’d assume that there is only very limited space available there. However, it is likely they will use one of the third party lounges there which could increase crowding.
10% off Iberia gift cards for Halloween

Iberia is running one of its regular promotions: 10% off all gift cards until 3 November. Gift cards are valid for a year, and bear in mind you can only use one gift card per purchase. Sometimes you can speak to Iberia and get them to combine cards, but it is not guaranteed.
It is interesting that the terms and conditions don’t mention the usual restrictions on using the gift cards with specific airlines, but I would assume they remain the same. This is what the terms and conditions usually say – The gift cards are only valid for routes operated by Iberia Operadora, Iberia Express or Iberia Regional Air Nostrum. They are valid for 12 months, and you can fly as many times as you want until you have used up the card amount. However, you do need to complete your flights within 12 months of purchase, not just use the card.
As usual, they can only be used for flight-only purchases, not flight + hotel or flight + car.
You can find the gift card page here.

The Malaysian lounge in T4 closed years ago – covid, if not before.
