New Accor 25% off summer sale
Accor has launched a new sale with exclusive access for ALL members for the first 5 days. It’s free to join, and you get extra savings. The sale will be available to non-members from 21 May 2025.
You need to book by 4 June 2024, for stays of three nights or more between 5 July and 8 September 2024. The exceptions are Paris for the period of 26 July to -11 August 2024. The offer does not apply to hotels in Paris, Ile de France, and Lille, France during this period. There is also a longer stay period for participating Sofitel and MGallery hotels from 21 June 2024 to 8 September 2024.
The sale applies to participating hotels across across Europe (including the UK) and North Africa. As a member of ALL, you can get up to 10% extra off.
Participating countries include: Albania, Algeria, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan.
There are some upmarket brands included such as Sofitel, Pullman, Mondrian and MGalley included. In the UK, you may be interested in the Sofitel T5, which is attached to the terminal. In London, the Mondrian Shoreditch is participating in the sale along with Pullman St Pancras, Sanderson London,
St Martins Lane London and Sofitel St James. Both the Heathrow and Gatwick Sofitels are included as is Pullman Liverpool.
The other good news is that you don’t need to pay in advance, and the reservation can be changed or cancelled in line with each hotel’s policy. The only catch is that you need to stay a minimum stay of 3 nights and a maximum of 10 nights.

Qatar Formula 1 Avios experiences
I previously wrote about the F1 packages for sale with Qatar Airways. Now, there is a chance to bid on some special F1 experiences at Silverstone in July with your Avios – but you will need deep pockets!
In January 2024, Qatar Airways introduced the Privilege Club Collection, a new platform for members to access exclusive experiences. Members can bid their Avios on unique packages, such as VIP concert tickets and pitch side seats at major sporting events.
Qatar Airways has just added a Formula 1 experience at the British Grand Prix 2024 at Silverstone.
It includes:
- Two (2) 3-day F1® Paddock Club passes
- 4-star hotel accommodation for four (4) nights for two (2) people
- F1 Experience Pit Lane Walk
- Access to Paddock Club™ viewing lounges
- Food and beverages
The Avios auction closes on the 24 May, so there is plenty of time left to bid. THe current high bid at the time of writing is ~470,000 Avios. Obviously, that is a lot but considering the hotel accommodation and the exclusive nature of the experience, I think it is worth the Avios.
You can easily link both your Privilege Club and British Airways Executive Club accounts to transfer Avios back and forth, from one account to another instantly.

New British Airways route
British Airways has resurrected its Heathrow-Jeddah route after a long hiatus since the pandemic. The service is currently showing as a B787-10, which has the new Club Suites.
The service will operate from 4 November 2024 and operate four times a week. Tickets are now on sale on ba.com.
- Outbound: BA133 LHR 2010-0530+1 JED (Mon, Tue, Thu & Sat)
- Inbound: BA132 JED 0755-1145 LHR (Tue, Wed, Fri & Sun)

The QR F1 Silverstone auction was added/live a while ago, i suspect this will be 1 million plus AVIOS, which really means that only people who could afford paddock in the first place can afford this type of AVIOS layout. Points auctions used to be a good way to get extreme value (and there are still some opportunities if there are “buy now” auctions that you can snag before they hit the blog sites) , but generally these Hilton/Marriot(and now QR) are now over blogged and no longer under the radar and therefore rarely good value.
