Up to 60% Bonus on Avios Purchased with Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has just announced a new ‘Buy Avios’ promotion. When you purchase 60,000 or more, you can earn up to 60% bonus Avios.

Targeted offers vary, but most members are receiving at least a 50% bonus on purchases of 60,000 Avios or more. You’ll need to check your account to see which offer you’ve been targeted for. Let us know in the comments which offer you’ve been targeted for.

Here is the main offer:

  • 5,000 to 30,000 Avios  – 20% bonus
  • 32,000 to 58,000 Avios – 30% bonus
  • 60,000 to 250,000 Avios  – 60% bonus

The Avios you purchase will be credited directly to your Qatar Airways Privilege Club Account. If you like, you can transfer them to your British Airways account as long as you’ve linked your Qatar and BA accounts together.

If you get the 60% bonus, you’ll pay just 1.09p per Avios, an excellent deal. It’s only worth purchasing Avios with Qatar if you plan to use them. You can often save money on a redemption vs a cash fare even if the Avios are bought. However, although this offer has run before, we can’t guarantee a 60% bonus will be offered again.

Things to Note:

  • There is no minimum purchase, but you will only be eligible for the offer if you purchase 60,000 Avios or more.
  • Your Qatar Airways Privilege Club account must have some prior ‘activity’ to be eligible. Earning Qatar Avios in the past or transferring points from another rewards scheme like AMEX Membership Rewards should suffice. If you haven’t already, make sure you read our guide to the Qatar Privilege Club loyalty programme.
  • The maximum purchase is 250,000 Avios, which, with a 60% bonus, gives you 400,000 Avios for £4,375.
  • Miles will be deposited into your account within 72 hours

Tip: If you use an Avios-earning credit card to purchase your miles, you can also earn additional Avios to transfer over to the Qatar Privilege Club.

You can buy Avios with Qatar Airways here >>>

If you are considering purchasing Avios through Qatar, before you go ahead, make sure you have a look at the Avios Boost Offer we spoke about yesterday, as you may be able to purchase them for as little as 0.92p per Avios.

First Look at the New Emirates Lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

the opening of the new Emirates lounge in Bangkok

Emirates has just reopened the newly refurbished lounge on the 4th floor of Satellite 1 Terminal (SAT-1) after a $5 million refurbishment. It has replaced the old lounge in Concourse G.

This lounge is now the largest Emirates international lounge outside of Dubai!

With a spacious 1,454-square-metre layout, the lounge can accommodate 250 guests—enough for two full Airbus A380 flights simultaneously.

Expect a premium pre-flight experience with a serene ambience, plush seating, and the Emirates’ signature style.

There’s also a huge selection of international and Thai cuisine, fast Wi-Fi, and shower spa facilities.

Emirates now has 41 lounges, including 7 in Dubai and 34 more globally. Bangkok is now a major travel hub for Emirates. There are six daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok, double daily Phuket services, and a direct Bangkok–Hong Kong route.

Who Can Access the Lounge?

  • Business Class Saver, Flex, Flex Plus and First passengers
  • Emirates Skywards Silver (1 adult or child guest), Platinum (1 adult and two children)
  • Paid access is available via ‘Manage Booking‘. It’s $155 for non-Skywards members and $125 for Skywards members (excluding taxes).
