25% off flash Marriott sale
Marriott has launched what seems on the face of it a great offer for up to 25% off weekend bookings for Europe, North America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Africa.
However, the catch is that not all hotels are participating. Some dates that I looked at for hotels in London, there were not many choices. It is still definitely worth looking though, as on other days there were plenty of participating hotels. The other catch is that these are pre-pay rates and have to be paid in full, plus they can’t be cancelled or changed.
Really, the sale is a longer version of Marriott’s Escapes, which are available for booking every Wednesday for weekends for the next four weeks.
The sale is available for bookings until 14 September and for stays from 15 September to 30 November 2026. The offer is also available on all days of the week from 22 to 30 November. Normally weekend stays are Thursday to Sunday. Thursday requires a Friday night stay. Some locations in the Middle East and Africa are offered for stays Wednesday to Saturday. Wednesday requires a Thursday night stay. Saturday requires a Friday night stay. There are also some resorts that are available throughout the week, so bear that in mind before you rule the sale out.
The discount is for up to 25% off. On the website, Bonvoy members get 20% off, which is still decent. To get the full 25% off, you need to use the app to book.
To access the sale, you have to go through a specific link. Check in your app for the 25% off or use this link for the regular 20% off.
British Airways The Club offers 40% buy bonus on Avios
Last week I wrote about the Finnair buy Avios bonus of up to 50%. Now BA have launched their own offer of 40% extra Avios when you buy them. The offer is available until 17 September 2026.
On the face of it, Finnair seems to be the winning offer, and it is still available. However, it is a staggered offer, whereas the BA one gives you 40% bonus Avios when you buy 2000 Avios or more. So if you plan to buy 74,000 or less and would have to transfer them to BA anyway, you are better off buying through BA. BA frequently offers a 50% bonus, so unless you need the Avios now, you would be better waiting to see if another offer comes along. I never advise buying Avios on speculation because, as we all know, changes to redemptions and rates can happen with no notice.
The minimum of 2000 Avios = 2800 for £49, and the maximum you can buy is 200,000 Avios = 280,000 Avios and costs £3539.
Don’t forget, it is better value to boost your Avios than buy them, but you can only do this for the Avios you have earned in the last 30 days. You can also earn Avios very quickly through Uber on cars, trains, flights and Uber Eats. They usually credit within 24 hours, so they are a great way to get the last few Avios without having to buy them.
You can find the buy Avios page here.
Emirates finally introduces Premium Economy redemptions
As far as premium economy class goes, Emirates’ new addition is amongst the best and something I would consider flying, unlike most premium economy products, thanks to its well-designed seats.
Until now, for some reason, you could not use miles to purchase their premium economy seats. Now Emirates Skywards has officially unlocked flight rewards for Premium Economy travel. Emirates and flydubai are now offering members a chance to redeem Skywards Miles on Classic Rewards and Upgrade Rewards on all Emirates’ Premium Economy cabins.
Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the introduction of flight rewards on Emirates’ highly coveted Premium Economy cabin. This has been in development for some time and comes following the huge success, positive feedback, and strong demand by members to utilise Miles on Premium Economy – especially on popular long-haul destinations such as London, Sydney, Melbourne, and New York. The offer will initially be available exclusively to our Skywards members, with plans to extend to other airline partners in the future. We are confident this enhancement will further enrich the travel experience, staying true to our brand promise of always flying customers better. We look forward to more of our members now having the opportunity to experience Emirates’ newest, luxurious cabin with a service that rivals many airlines’ Business Class.”
Members can now redeem Skywards Miles to purchase a full flight ticket on Emirates Premium Economy cabin, starting from 15,000 Miles (one-way).
You can also request an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy starting from 7,020 Miles (one-way). Upgrade requests can be booked prior to a flight and will also be offered at the Emirates’ check-in counter, subject to availability.
Don’t forget Emirates is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards.
