40% AMEX to Hilton Honours Points Transfer Bonus

If you have an AMEX card which earns Membership Rewards points, there’s a tempting transfer bonus offer at the moment. Until 24th November, you can get a 40% bonus when converting AMEX Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors points.
The usual transfer rate is 1 Membership Rewards point to 2 Hilton Honours points, but during the offer you’ll receive 2.8 Hilton Honours points. For example, 50,000 Membership Rewards points would convert into 140,000 Hilton Honors points rather than the usual 100,000. That’s a huge difference!
With Hilton points worth around 0.34p each, 100,000 points would usually be worth £340, but would increase to £476 with the bonus (140,000 points). You would normally get 0.68p per Membership Rewards Point (2:1), increasing to around 0.95p with the offer. That’s pretty close to the 1p per Avios benchmark you could potentially get by transferring your Membership Rewards points to Avios instead.
You must transfer at least 200 Membership Rewards points, and you can’t transfer any more than 499,950 per transaction. Once transferred, the points will be in your account within 5 business days, though the bonus can take up to 20 business days, so don’t count on the bonus arriving quickly if you want to book a redemption sooner rather than later.
You could also increase the value of your points by using the 5th night free on reward stays benefit if you hold Hilton status.
This is definitely something to consider if you have a Hilton redemption in mind, are just short of the points needed, or aren’t sure what to do with your Membership Rewards points. Keep in mind that transfers can’t be reversed.
20% Bonus on Nectar-Avios Conversions: Good Deal?

You’ll now receive a 20% bonus when you convert Nectar Points to Avios and vice versa until 31st October.
For example, 40,000 Nectar points normally convert to 25,000 Avios, but during the promotion you’d receive 30,000 Avios – an extra 5,000 Avios just for converting before the end of October.
Going the other way, 25,000 Avios would normally give you 25,000 Nectar points, worth £125, but during the promotion you’d get 30,000 Nectar points, worth £150 – an extra £25. That’s 0.6p per Avios compared to the usual 0.5p when transferred to Nectar. Personally, I wouldn’t convert Avios to Nectar unless you have a specific reason, as 25,000 Avios could get you much more value than £150 if you use them for premium cabin redemptions.
This time, the bonus applies to both automatic and manual conversions, and you’ll get the same bonus either way, though your accounts must be linked before 24th October for an automatic conversion.
If you have a balance of Nectar Points, transferring to Avios with the bonus is one of the best ways to get more value. The bonus Avios/Nectar Points can take up to 28 days after the promotion has ended to be credited to your account – something to keep in mind if you’ve already found a redemption!
If you shop at Sainsbury’s or Argos, use your Nectar card and check the personalised offers in the app to earn even more points. They can really add up, especially as the usual earn rate is just 1 Nectar Point per £1 spent. Remember, once in your BA account, you could transfer Avios to Qatar, Aer Lingus and more, or use them for Oneworld redemptions.
