Flying Blue: Up to 45% Off When You Buy Miles – Amsterdam to Dubai Business for £901

Flying Blue logo

Flying Blue, the joint loyalty programme of Air France and KLM, has launched a tempting promotion for miles purchases. You can now save up to 45% until 17th September 2025 – perfect if you’re just short of the miles needed for a redemption.

Discounts range from 35-45% depending on the number of miles purchased:

Number of Miles Purchased Discount Cost per Mile
4,000–20,000 miles 35% off 1.45p
22,000–48,000 miles 40% off 1.34p
50,000 miles+ 45% off 1.23p

If you’re planning to make the most of this offer, it’s only really worth it if you purchase 50,000 miles or more. Your purchase will cost £613.25, down from the regular £1,115.

Flying Blue’s dynamic pricing model may be unpredictable, but there are still some great deals to be found:

Amsterdam to Dubai in KLM Business for £901

If you were to book a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Dubai in Business class (16th January 2026) with cash, it would cost you £2,687.

If you were to purchase the 60,000 miles needed to pay for this flight in miles, it would cost you £901.18 (£735.90 + £165.28 in taxes and fees).

That’s a saving of £1,785.82. You could save even more if you already have a Flying Blue miles balance.

Paris to Perth with Vietnam Airlines in Business for £1,753

This redemption via Flying Blue (16th January 2026) requires 111,500 miles plus £385.14 in taxes and fees.

It’s worth noting that you’d need to buy 125,000 miles for £1,533.13 (but you would have 12,000 in your account for another redemption). The base cost of  111,500 miles would be £1,371.45.

If you were to purchase the same flight with cash, it would cost £2,279.50. Paying with points results in savings of up to £523.22.

If you have a redemption in mind, make sure you look at the miles vs cash cost to see where you can get the most value. There are plenty of fares where you can save over £1,000.

Things to Note

  • Elite members may purchase an unlimited number of Miles (up to 300,000 in a single transaction). Explorer members can purchase a maximum of 100,000 miles.
  • Purchases are processed via Points.com, so they won’t code as airline spend on your credit card.
  • Miles will be in your account within 72 hours of purchase.
  • You have the right to withdraw your purchase within 14 days

For more info on Flying Blue, make sure you read our full Flying Blue loyalty programme guide.

Purchases can be made via the “Manage my Miles” section of your Flying Blue account.

Get 25% More BA Avios with HSBC Premier Rewards Transfers

HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard
HSBC World Elite Mastercard

HSBC has launched a 25% Avios conversion bonus on all Avios transfers from HSBC Premier credit card points to British Airways Avios until 30th September, 2025.

The offer is only for point conversions from HSBC to British Airways. From BA, you can then transfer to other programmes, such as the Qatar Privilege Club (although Combine My Avios is currently suspended).

This is a tempting offer. For example, 100,000 HSBC points usually convert to 50,000 Avios – now 62,500 Avios with the bonus. However, the promotion is relatively regular, so it’s usually only worth it if you have a redemption in mind or your HSBC points are going to expire (3-year expiry). Once your points have been converted to Avios, they will not expire as long as you have some activity.

Things to Note

  • Avios transfers can take up to 14 days, but most people report transfers being instant.
  • You can now transfer points via the app or the website
  • In the app, go to ‘Premier Card then ‘spend your points’  to see when they will expire. You should also receive an email.

HSBC Premier Cards

There are two options: the HSBC Premier Card and the HSBC World Elite Card.

HSBC Premier
HSBC Premier Credit Card

Both cards have the same requirement: You must be a Premier Current Account Holder with an income of £100,000 or £ 100,000 in savings or investments.

Both cards also have the same airline partners. Points can be transferred at a 2:1 ratio:

  • British Airways Club
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Qatar Privilege Club
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Etihad Guest
  • Finnair Plus
  • Flying Blue (Air France KLM)
  • Asia Miles
  • EVA Air MileageLands
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer
  • TAP Miles&Go

Earn Up to 10 Virgin Points Per £1 Spent with Booking.com

You can now earn up to 10 Virgin Points per £1 spent on Booking.com stays across the UK and Europe until 30th September 2025 (up from the usual 8 points per £1).

This isn’t as good as the 12 points per £1 deal a few months ago, but you can still get excellent value going via the Virgin Red portal vs direct to Booking.com (where you wouldn’t earn any points).

£1,650 on Booking.com = £403 Premium Economy Flight

To earn enough points via Booking.com for this Heathrow to Mumbai redemption in Premium, you would need to spend just £1,650.

£750 on Booking.com = £190 Maldives Economy Flight

This next deal is an Economy fare, but it’s too good not to mention! If you spend £750 on booking.com (after taxes and fees), you would earn 7,500 Virgin Red Points. There are plenty of dates where you can redeem an Economy flight to Malé for just 7,500 points + £190.

How to Earn Virgin Points on Booking.com Stays

You can’t book direct via  booking.com; you must click through via Virgin Red via the ‘Earn’ button on the Virgin Red website or app and complete your booking in the same browsing session. Once you’ve been redirected to Booking.com, you can book as you normally would.

Points are awarded on room charges only (taxes, extras, and add-ons don’t count) and will be credited within 120 days of a completed stay.

You can easily transfer points between Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic, and vice versa. There are plenty of ways you can spend Virgin Points. Read our How to Spend Virgin Points guide for detailed info.

I went to review the @hyattlondonstratford Regency hotel but was surprised at how easy it was to get there and get around London so easily. There’s so much on the doorstep from the Westfield shopping centre to the @londonaquaticcentre where Tom Daley trains. There’s a huge restaurant scene here with every sort of cuisine you can think of. I loved all the outdoor terraces to. I ate at Alpine restaurant @haugenldn and was impressed with the range of dishes from wild mushroom rosti to fondue. There’s also a great roof terrace.
