Oneworld bargains to US from £1056
BA seem to be working their way through Europe with flash sales on business class in the last 10 days of their sale which ends on 21 May (not June as I mistakenly out yesterday!). Today’s fares are from Paris airport which is easy to get to from the UK regions and has a good Cathay Pacific lounge to use when travelling on oneworld airlines. These are some of the best oneworld business fares I have seen for a while so don’t hang around as they probably won’t last until 21 May.
Although I have listed the official travel dates I was able to find the fares until the end of March 2020. On these fares, you can fly direct with American Airlines from Paris or maximise tier points and fly with BA via Heathrow.

- Minimum stay: 3 nights
- Maximum stay: 1 month
- Transfers: 2 in each direction
- Stopovers: Not permitted
- Refundable: No
- Changeable: For a fee

British Airways new A350 routes
Although there has been no official press release, according to Business standard website , British Airways are planning to add Bengaluru to the list of destinations for its new A350. The A350 will feature British Airways new Club Suite which is a huge improvement on the current Club World seat. You can read more about the seat in this article.
The airline is also expected to announce that flights to Tel Aviv will feature the A350 from December 2019. This could be in response to Virgin Atlantic starting flights to Tel Aviv from September 2019, increasing competition on the route.
The exact timings are yet to be revealed but it will be later in 2019 according to BA’s Moran Birger, Head of Sales, Asia Pacific and Middle East. The other routes already announced for the A350 are Toronto and Dubai.
IHG hotels sale
IHG has a Global sale which offers a saving of at least 20% off. The offers are available to book from 14 May – 31 July 2019. You can stay between 24 May – 15 September 2019 but you must book at least 3 days in advance. The sale includes InterContinental hotels as well as other IHG brands like Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo.
The discount is at least 20% off the Best Flexible Rate but IHG® Rewards Club members will get additional savings. The catch as ever is that it requires non-refundable, full pre-payment for the entire stay at the time of booking.

Bengaluru, seriously???? WTF…surely they coukd have picked a more upmarket roure than there???
It is straight out of the Willy Walsh and Alex Cruz playbook – local, trapped customers don’t matter half as much as potential new customers. They know that most of their short haul and transatlantic customers are sticky; they are either corporate wage slaves with little influence, or customers with little other choice. So offer the premium product on long haul routes that encourage non-UK based/visiting travellers to use Heathrow as a Hub (2 flights sold for 1 plane upgraded).
Similarly the Tel Aviv route just stinks of corporate cronyism and a lack of imagination. Tel Aviv is a bizarre route to offer a premium product on, domestic demand isn’t that strong, European and US carriers all operate direct flights, some with good J products. Club Suite won’t alter travel patterns.
I strongly suspect the roll-out of the club-suite will make CrossRail look like a professionally delivered product.
Regarding the OW fares – how hard is to search for West Coast flights via JFK/PHL/ATL? This is to have (for example) CDG-PHL-LAX/SAN/SFO that would yield 560 tier points.

Many thanks for identifying the OW fares from Paris. Just booked CDG to IAH all on BA for only £1067 in march 2020. Tried to do it to MCO from CDG via LHR but ticket was issued and then cancelled.
That’s a definite bargain!
I give little credence to the article which conveniently has a,( generally speaking) little known, Indian destination on the list. The likelihood of Bengaluru getting fast tracked for the A350’s is imho approaching laughable. I stand to be corrected but as it stands I see little sense for pax traffic nums, market share for route, profitability well tbh any factor that would have BA falling over themselves to throw an A350 with the new cabin onto a route that most people would need to google to even know where it is or anything about.
So your faith is in Mr Cruz? :-). It is bonkers to extend their best product to a country that went into hysteric-boycott mode after a mid-level diplomat (Mr Pathak) made some dubious claims about what cabin crew told him after being disruptive – BUT I fully believe BA will do it.
HFP is making the bizarre claim that they are only introducing the a350 on non-premium routes as it doesn’t have First Class. If true I find that a bit ridiculous. They could easily substitute 1 or 2 into their Transatlantic Network whilst still leaving plenty of flights per day with first class.
That is why they haven’t put it on New York as they want the consistency of First on every flight. I think it’s a shame the routes it is going onto but hopefully there will be some better ones as they roll more out.
