Extra £300 off BA Holidays

BA currently has a sale on for flights and holidays until 22 September. To celebrate the government’s announcements to simplify travel yesterday, BA is offering up to £300 off holidays until 21 September. The Double Tier Points offer is also still available but make sure you read the small print very carefully. Note it does not seem to show the offer details for Club flights but they are included.

British Airways Holidays are offering additional savings on top of the pricing in the British Airways Sale.

Book a flight + hotel in the BA Sale and you can make the following additional savings:

  • £300 extra discount with a minimum spend of £10,000 per booking
  • £200 extra discount with a minimum spend of £5,000 per booking
  • £100 extra discount with a minimum spend of £2,500 per booking
  • £50 extra discount with a minimum spend of £1,250 per booking

Travel dates: 18.09.2021 and 07.09.2022

The saving is available to all destinations.

You can find the relevant page here.

More updates from the government

Yesterday I wrote about the big changes announced to simplify travel. Since then we have learnt that Scotland will also get rid of the amber category but they will not change the need for a day 2 PCR test. Their argument is that it is needed to pick up variants. However, given that in England they only sequence a tiny amount of tests, I think it’s a weak argument. When the rules come through if anyone’s lateral flow is positive they will have to take a PCR test that will then be sequenced. They will also not do away with the pre-departure test for returning to the UK.

Wales has yet to decide their testing requirements.

It has also been revealed that transit rules will change for the better according to Paul Charles:

Good to see that @transportgovuk will, from late Oct, enable passengers who change flights or i’nal trains during their journey to follow the measures linked to their country of departure, rather than any country they have transited through. Common sense prevails. @ThePCAgency

Bali will start allowing international travel from October?

Bali

Indonesia has been one of the countries like Thailand where their intentions seem to change on a daily basis. Originally they said they would reopen last autumn. Obviously, that never happened. Currently, Indonesia is on the red list for the UK. They are now allowing certain visa holders to enter Indonesia with the next step being to allow tourists from countries considered to have Covid under control, so I’m guessing the UK will not be one of them. However, according to Reuters, cases have dropped by 94% since July so it looks likely it could come off the red list soon.

Indonesia may allow foreign tourists to start returning to Bali and other parts of the country by October, senior minister Luhut Pandjaitan said on Friday. This will be confirmed when 70% of the population have had at least one vaccine.

It does not show correctly. Seems to be for Club bookings that are incorrect. It will credit the right amount afterwards.
