40,000 Bonvoy Points Marriott Debit Card Sign Up Bonus

The two Marriott Bonvoy Debit cards by Currensea

If you’ve been considering one of the Marriott Bonvoy Premium Debit Cards, now’s a great time to apply. The sign-up bonuses have been increased until 15th September 2026.

The Premium card now has a bonus of 40,000 Bonvoy points (previously 15,000) for spending £3,000 in foreign currency in the first 3 months. The standard card now has a bonus of 15,000 points (up from 5,000) when you spend £1,000 in foreign currency in the first 12 months.

This is the highest sign-up bonus offered for these cards, so it’s well worth applying before the deadline if you’re considering it.

These cards link directly to your current account and are issued by Currensea, the company behind the Hilton Debit Cards and the recently launched United Debit Cards.

Depending on where and when you redeem, 40,000 points could be enough for a few nights at lower-category properties or a substantial contribution towards a stay at one of Marriott’s more premium brands. The points are worth around £200 at 0.5p per point, which is more than the card’s £175 annual fee. Even the bonus on the £55 card is worth around £75.

The Premium card comes with:

  • Gold Marriott status for as long as you hold your card
  • Up to 20 Elite Night Credits (15 instantly, then 1 more per £4,000 spent)
  • A free night worth up to 25,000 points when you spend over £5,000 abroad (or a night worth 50,000 points if you spend £9,500 abroad), which you get on renewal.
  • 1.5 Marriott Bonvoy points per £1 spent within the UK and European currencies
  • 3 points per £1 for spending outside the UK and Europe.
  • 4 points per £1 or 6 points per £1 abroad for spending on stays or experiences with Marriott Bonvoy
  • Real-time exchange rates and foreign exchange fees as low as 0.5%

The Elite night credits can be stacked with the AMEX Marriott credits, giving you 35 and just 15 left to earn Platinum status.

Link Marriott Bonvoy and Nectar for up to 2,000 Bonus Nectar Points

The Nectar Marriott Bonvoy Partnership

If you haven’t linked your Marriott Bonvoy and Nectar accounts yet, now’s a great time to do so.

Until 30th June, you can earn 500 bonus Nectar Points when you join Marriott Bonvoy via Nectar. Your accounts will then be linked automatically.

You can also earn up to 1,500 bonus points with your first three stays at participating Marriott hotels (500 points for each qualifying stay). This is an easy way to earn an extra 1,500 Nectar Points on stays you would have booked anyway.

1,000 Nectar Points can be converted into 500 Marriott Points and vice versa. Once in your Marriott account, you could spend them on Marriott redemptions, or you could opt to convert points with one of the 40+ airline transfer partners.

This is a great bonus for something that doesn’t take long to set up.

NEW: Spend Avios on China Southern Flights

China Southern Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner From Guangzhou Aircraft Tail Logo

British Airways has added the option to spend Avios with China Southern. BA has already had a codeshare agreement with China Southern for several years, but not the option to redeem Avios.

You can now earn and spend Avios across the entire China Southern network, which includes over 215 destinations in 54 countries from its hubs in Guangzhou and Beijing, including a large domestic network, useful international routes and popular regional services. These options will be a great addition to Cathay Pacific’s BA redemptions and will be great for onward connections across China after a BA flight.

Business Class fares are surprisingly competitive, with off-peak fares such as Guangzhou to London priced at 102,500 Avios + £252.80 and Guangzhou to Istanbul at 85,000 Avios + £99.70. Fares are incredible value in Economy for regional flights across China starting at 6,500 Avios. This is especially useful, given the new visa rules for British passport holders, which allow up to 30 days of visa-free travel.

You can find fares using the BA search tool under ‘Book with Avios’.

From the Marriott debit card website: Earn 40,000 bonus points when you spend £3,000 in foreign currency in the first 12 months.

Not 3 months as you state.
