British Airways Avios Availability – Looking a Year in Advance

  • 29/08/2026
  • Katrina
Priority Pass

Spending Avios can sometimes be tricky at the best of times, so we now regularly bring you a look every fortnight at what routes have the best Avios availability, thanks to Reward Flight Finder.

If there is a particular focus you would like in an article for Avios, let us know in the comments below.

In this post:

What is Reward Flight Finder?

Reward Flight Finder offers a free and paid service to find Avios seats for a whole year’s worth of flights at a glance. One of the most useful features is available on the paid plan, where you can set alerts when Avios seats are released on the flights you want. You can also use the map feature, which shows you all the Avios destinations available on a particular date.

RFF offer monthly and yearly plans. Here are the options:

Silver membership includes:

Gold membership – from £7.99 monthly or Annual £79.99 (current offer gives 2 months free)

Gold membership includes:

  • Unlimited reward seat searches
  • Get instant reward seat Alerts
  • Flight by flight Search and Alerts

You can find out more and sign up here.

If you’re planning to use Avios for a trip you really care about, start searching as early as possible. The most desirable reward seats on popular routes can disappear quickly, particularly in Business Class.

School holidays, Christmas, summer and long weekends are especially competitive. Waiting until you’ve finalised your plans can leave you with limited choice, or no reward seats at all.

To show why timing matters, we’ve taken a look at some of the best British Airways reward availability currently showing for July and August 2027 on Reward Flight Finder.

Short Haul

London City, Gatwick and Heathrow – Faro, with BA

British Airways currently has good availability from London City, Gatwick and Heathrow, with some dates offering three Economy and three Business Class seats.

London Heathrow – Gothenburg, with BA

There’s particularly strong availability from Heathrow, with many July dates showing six Economy and six Business Class seats. August is similarly generous, with many dates offering six Economy and four Business Class seats.

London Heathrow – Hannover, with BA

Another strong option from Heathrow, with July offering plenty of dates with six Economy and six Business Class seats, while August has many dates with six Economy and four Business Class seats.

London City, Gatwick, and Heathrow – Malaga, with BA

A perennial favourite for school holidays — and availability is already becoming patchier. July has dates with up to four Economy and four Business Class seats, while August still has some dates with three Economy and four Business Class seats.

London City, Gatwick, and Heathrow – Palma, with BA

July currently has dates with three Economy and three Business Class seats, while August is looking even better, with four seats in each cabin available on many dates.

London Heathrow – Zagreb, with BA

There are currently dates throughout July and August with three Economy and three Business Class seats available from Heathrow.

Long Haul

This is where booking early becomes particularly important.

London Heathrow – Cape Town, with BA

A popular year-round destination, with some July and August dates still showing three Premium Economy and two Business Class seats. If you’re interested, it’s worth booking now — or setting a Reward Flight Finder alert.

London Heathrow – Dubai, with BA

There are currently dates throughout July and August with two Premium Economy and four Business Class seats available.

London Heathrow – Hong Kong, with BA

Availability is already limited, but a handful of July and August dates still have two Premium Economy and two Business Class seats.

London Heathrow – Maldives, with BA

Unsurprisingly, most of the popular summer availability has already gone. However, there are still a few dates offering two Premium Economy and two Business Class seats.

London Heathrow – Rio de Janeiro, with BA

Summer availability is also becoming scarce, although a few July and August dates still have two Premium Economy and two Business Class seats.

If you know where you want to go, don’t wait until the holiday is just a few months away to start looking.
