NEWS: New BA Club World amenity kits & onboard amenities, Air France open Heathrow Lounge and New Centurion lounge for Amsterdam

New BA Club World amenity kits

BA launched new Gatwick amenity kits for Club World last year, which seemed a bit odd, given that Heathrow wasn’t included. It was obviously some sort of trial, as now they have launched the same amenity kits at Heathrow as well as onboard toiletries for Club World. The amenity kits are due on board from August.

anatomē, a London-based modern apothecary, has partnered with British Airways for the new amenity kits for the Club World cabin. I like the sound of the two skincare products, and the bags are larger, so they’re probably more useful for reuse. However, it doesn’t really feel like an upgrade to the existing kits, and the eye mask looks smaller. The previous eyemask was actually one of the best airline eyemasks as it was soft and oversized.

The travel pouches showcase artwork by British artists, (Amelia Coward, Charlotte Roseberry, Kit Boyd and Naomi Edmonson) powered by art platform Rise Art. The latest kits have different paintings from the original Gatwick ones.

New amenity kit designs

The amenity kit features two of anatomē’s botanical formulations – a hydrating moisturiser and a restorative multi balm which both focus on scent and aromatherapy,

  • Botanical Balm– An all-over multi-usebalm for use on dry skin

Formulated with botanical extracts and essential oils – Soothes and nourishes dehydrated skin

  • Hydrating Moisturiser – For face and neck

Formulated with essential oils – Keeps skin feeling calm and deeply hydrated

Also in the kit are:

  • Socks

  • Eyemask

  • Earplugs

  • Wooden toothbrush and toothpaste

They have also already swapped to anatomē hand soap and lotion on board for the Club toilets.

Customers travelling in World Traveller will also benefit from a new pillow and blanket set.

New Air France lounge opens at Heathrow

It has been a long time since Air France had its own lounge or even a SkyTeam lounge at Heathrow. The SkyTeam lounge at Heathrow’s T4 closed during Covid and never reopened, sadly. I was always a fan of the wine library and Clarins spa.

So it is great to see Air France reopen a dedicated lounge today. I was impressed with my visit to its relatively new Los Angeles lounge in late 2024.

Located in Terminal 4, the lounge is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm for Air France La Première, Business* and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers, as well as eligible customers flying with KLM and SkyTeam alliance partner airlines.

Entirely designed by Air France teams in collaboration with the agency MARKS Brandimage, the lounge covers over 750 m² and has nearly 150 seats. The good news for aviation geeks is that it offers a view of the runways. Also in the design are the historic symbol of Air France, the winged horse, and a selection of posters illustrating its rich heritage alongside its signature colours — shades of blue, bright white and touches of red. From the photos, it looks very similar to the LA lounge.

The dining area seats nearly sixty guests, with a mix of tables for two and a large communal table. The French menu changes throughout the day, offering a selection of hot dishes such as beef bourguignon and cold, savoury and sweet dishes, including vegetarian options. When the lounge opens, travellers will be able to enjoy dishes such as beef bourguignon.

Staffed by a bartender, the feature bar offers a selection of champagne, French wines and spirits.

This new lounge features a Clarins treatment area, an Air France partner for nearly 20 years. In a private treatment room, Clarins’ beauty therapists offer one complimentary treatment from the following three: ‘Anti Jet-Lag’, ‘L’Instant Detox’ and ‘Focus Regard’. Open Monday to Friday starting July 13, 2026. Bookings can be made in person at the Clarins reception desk in the Air France lounge. La Première customers can also book these treatments by calling their dedicated phone number.

There is also a dedicated space for La Première First-Class customers with a bespoke service. Modelled on the La Première suite available on certain long-haul flights departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, it offers a spectacular view of the runways, features five seats and offers in-seat dining service. In the Clarins area, La Première customers can also enjoy a “Destination Relaxation” treatment designed especially for them.

Flying Blue Ultimate members also have access to a dedicated area within the lounge, though it has only four chairs.

Other areas of the lounge include a dedicated relaxation area with a quiet atmosphere and a workspace area. The lounge also features TV screens, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of power sockets and USB ports near the seats. Finally, a selection of French and international digital newspapers and magazines is available on the Air France Press app.

More details on the new Centurion lounge for Amsterdam

We announced the new Centurion lounge almost exactly a year ago, with little updated information available. Now something actually appears to be happening, and the lounge is due to open by the end of the year between Concourses E and F.

“With a large number of American Express Card Members traveling through Schiphol each year, the new Centurion Lounge will be an important addition to our growing global Centurion Lounge Network,” said Audrey Hendley, President, American Express Travel. “We know travelers are looking for authentic, local experiences when they travel, and the new Centurion Lounge will deliver a premium experience and amenities with a taste of Dutch history and culture.”

At nearly 6,000 square feet, the Lounge design features a palette of blues, greens and earth tones meant to evoke Amsterdam’s famous waterways and tranquillity, while the lines, proportion and repetition represent the iconic canal houses of the city.

A coffee bar area will be featured, along with a premium dining and bar area, dedicated workstations, abundant outlets and USB ports, premium food and beverage options, several seating areas, complimentary access to high-speed Wi-Fi, and more.
