Finnair/Radisson status match and Avios/points conversion
I know that some TLFL readers turned to Finnair for their oneworld status after BA’s Executive Club qualification armageddon. If you are interested in learning more, you can read our article here. If you are one of those, you may be interested in this offer. Even if you earn Avios through another airline, you could use any unwanted Radisson points to convert into Avios and then just move them from Finnair into your preferred scheme.
Finnair and Radisson have extended their partnership and now offer two-way conversion of miles and points. This is in addition to matching your Radisson Rewards status to your Finnair Plus. I already have VIP status from my Eurobonus status match with SAS, which is also valid for two years.
Here’s how the status match maps across:
- Finnair Silver, Gold, or Platinum maps directly to Radisson Rewards Premium.
- Finnair Platinum Lumo maps directly to Radisson Rewards VIP
Core Tier Benefits
- Premium Status Perks: Complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability), a “My Favourite Hotel” selection, and a Discount Booster offering up to 20% off room rates alongside earning a reduced 9 points per dollar.
- VIP Status Perks: Adds free breakfast for two, access to exclusive VIP hotel spaces, a 24-hour dedicated customer contact centre, and a higher Discount Booster earning 12 points per dollar.
The good news is that once linked, your matched tier is valid for two full years.
How to do the status match
- You must link your 16-digit Radisson Rewards number to your Finnair Plus profile through the official Finnair portal.
- The first and last names on both accounts must match exactly for the link to succeed.
- Radisson properties in North America are managed separately under Choice Privileges and are not part of this program.
Two-Way Point Conversions
Alongside the status match, you can transfer rewards between systems.
- Avios to Radisson: 3 Finnair Avios convert into 5 Radisson Rewards points.
- Radisson to Avios: 10 Radisson Rewards points convert into 1 Finnair Avios

Emirates travel policies change
Given the ongoing on-again/off-again conflict in the Middle East, airlines from the region have been trying to attract customers by offering extra protections for travellers. Emirates has now confirmed its latest offering for those that may be interested in travelling with them to or via Dubai. Some of the policies are extensions to what has been previously offered, but I thought it was worth a round-up of all of them.
1. Unlimited free date changes to Dubai
From 10 August 2026, customers travelling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as they need, free of charge, across every type of fare from Saver all the way through to Flex fares in Economy, and for Special, Saver and Flex fares in Business Class.
2. Refunds with reduced fees
Emirates has also substantially reduced refund fees on flights to Dubai to US$50 on Saver fares and US$25 on Flex fares in Economy. In Business Class, refund fees will be US$50 on Special and Saver fares and US$25 on Flex fares.
3. A free date change anywhere across the network
Customers travelling anywhere on the Emirates network receive one free date change on tickets booked from 2 April 2026, including journeys connecting through Dubai. Customers can also hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge while they finalise their plans.
4. Comprehensive Travel Cover
Emirates’ Comprehensive Travel Cover is an insurance product that covers a range of scenarios, including added conflict cover, reimbursement of medical expenses up to US$25,000, and a free trip extension of up to 30 days. The cover is not restricted by government travel advice. Customers are also covered for trip cancellation, baggage delay and loss, in addition to unlimited worldwide medical expenses and emergency evacuation. However, there is an extra charge for this cover.
The insurance is available 27 countries and can be purchased at the time of booking on emirates.com or added to an existing booking through Manage Booking.
Where flights are disrupted, Emirates will support impacted customers with accommodation directly. Where onward connections on other airlines are affected, or Emirates services are unavailable, customers are rebooked to their destination at no additional cost, including where cancellations are caused by airspace disruptions.
5. More flexibility and savings for Emirates Skywards members
Emirates Skywards members can get greater flexibility, more opportunities to progress their tier and additional savings when using their Miles.
Until 31 August 2026, members can benefit from:
- 20% fewer Tier Miles required to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status.
- 20% bonus Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights.
- More savings with Cash+Miles, with a special rate of 2,000 Miles = USD 30, instead of the usual USD 15, when using Miles towards Emirates or flydubai flights, excess baggage, lounge access and seat selection.

Accor €50 voucher offer
Accor have a good new offer, but it is limited to the first 500 customers who stay as part of the offer. You also need to have not stayed with Accor for 12 months. I have not and can access and register for the offer. Personally, I would only bother with it if I was staying near the start of the stay period, where you stand a chance of getting the voucher. Although it is targeted, I would imagine that, towards the end, the vouchers may have been used up.
Here is how you can stand a chance of getting a €50 voucher:
- Be an ALL Accor member
- Have not stayed with Accor for 12 months
- Activate the offer
- Book a stay of 2 nights or more at a participating hotel by 21 August 2026
- Complete your stay between 7 August and 30 September 2026
If you’re among the first 500 eligible members to complete your stay, you’ll receive a £/€50 gift card towards a future stay at participating Accor hotels worldwide. The first 500 participants will receive their digital Gift Card via email within 21 days of completing their stay and making full payment. You will know at the end of the stay period whether you were among the first 500 participants to book and complete a stay.
The offer also requires that your ALL member address is in Europe or North Africa, and the eligible stay must take place in:
