Following the fantastic response to our recent Priority Pass competition, we have some good news. Turning Left for Less giveaways are becoming a regular feature.

Emirates £10 million Manchester Lounge Details Revealed
Emirates has now revealed the full details of its new £10 million lounge at Manchester Airport T2.
It’s the first lounge in the UK to have Emirates’ new signature lounge concept, with over 50 new design features. There’s also direct boarding from the lounge to the aircraft, something no other airline currently offers at Manchester Airport.
Inside, you’ll find Italian eco-leather seating, wireless charging and universal power at every seat, plus signature touches such as the distinctive Emirates scent, herringbone flooring and Rolex clocks showing international time zones. Look out for the artefact display on the walls too, which pays tribute to international artists and Emirati culture.
Other facilities include upgraded shower suites with VOYA toiletries, prayer rooms and private spaces. There’s also a dedicated Quiet Zone with softer lighting and sleep amenities.
There’s an ongoing Manchester theme to the food and drink. The Made in Manchester menu includes dishes such as
- Fleetwood marinated king prawns
- Oven-baked Fleetwood sea bream
- Wigan meat and potato pie
- Shetland kippers with crumpets and poached egg
- Lancashire smoked trout and Cheshire cheeses
It’s good to see Emirates has made an effort to give the lounge a sense of place, rather than fully reproducing the lounge concept from elsewhere.
An open show kitchen serves freshly prepared à la minute dishes alongside an international menu, with wines, beers, spirits and Moët & Chandon Champagne included.
The local theme continues at the bar with a Made in Manchester cocktail made with Vimto Summer, grenadine, lemonade and fresh strawberry. Even the coffees can be finished with a cocoa-dusted Manchester bee or the Emirates emblem.
Mohammad Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President, Airport Services at Emirates, said:
“Manchester is an important gateway in our global network, and the scale of our investment here reflects our long-term commitment to the region. Our new signature lounge concept raises the bar for premium airport lounges, bringing together the hospitality, innovation and attention to detail that define the Emirates experience at every stage of the journey.”
The lounge is available to visit up to four hours before departure. Complimentary access is available for First and Business Class passengers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold status holders. If you’re not eligible for complimentary entry and are flying Emirates, you can also pay for lounge access on arrival.
This is looking like a fantastic addition to the ground experience. Direct boarding should make for a more stress-free experience, rather than having to leave the lounge early to find the gate. Everything you’d want from a good airport lounge seems to be here too.
Win 1 Million Hilton Honors Points
Hilton has just launched a new competition giving one lucky Hilton Honors member the chance to win 1 million Hilton Honors points! The giveaway runs until 31st December.
To take part, register for the promotion to receive one entry. If you do have a Hilton stay coming up, you can improve your chances. Book and complete an eligible Hilton stay by 31st December to earn three extra entries. You must be based in the UK or Germany to enter.
One million Hilton Honors points is a pretty substantial prize and well worth registering for, even if you don’t have a Hilton stay planned. You could enjoy a range of stays at some of Hilton’s most luxurious properties or an extended trip with cheaper redemption options. Remember, if you have Hilton Honors Silver status or above, you can also get the fifth night free when booking eligible Standard Room Reward stays of five nights or more.
There are plenty of things you can do with 1 million Hilton Points. For example, nights at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi can start at 150,000 points per night, while cash rates can run to well over £2,000. For Hilton status holders using Fifth Night Free, five nights at the 150,000-point level would cost 600,000 points. If you opted for a cheaper redemption, say 40,000 points per night, 1 million points could give you 25-30 free nights, depending on your Hilton status. With that many points, it would be worth purchasing status via a Currensea card for the extra nights.
As always, Reward Pricing varies by date, so you can get even more value from your Hilton Points if you’re flexible, but winning a million points would certainly be a nice problem to have!
