Marriot hotels most popular redemptions – more inspiration for your points!

  • 18/02/2021
  • Jenna Rank

Many of us are faced with the prospect of holidaying closer to home than usual for the foreseeable future, and – as the strain of the pandemic hits our hip pockets – many of us may be looking to use loyalty points to snag that little getaway.

Recently, we released a list of the top Hilton properties loyalty members choose to use their points on, which featured some old favourites and some unexpected new additions. Today, we are looking to Marriot, to see which of their hotels are the favourite for points redemption.

Hopefully this inspires you to check your points balance and book your next stay at one of these amazing properties (when we’re all allowed to, of course)! Let us know your favourites in the comments.

If you’d rather pay cash for these hotels, don’t forget that our partnership with Debonair can give extra benefits with many Marriott group hotels such as hotel credit and more when you book with us. Ask about your preferred hotel’s benefits via our booking enquiry page.

London Marriott Hotel County Hall

Where history and luxury combine: this unique property, set within the old County Hall buildings, offers guests access to the bustling Southbank area, with views of the Thames, the London Eye and the famous Big Ben (yes, we know he’s the bell).

Freshly renovated, the hotel also features elegant rooms with all the essentials, including a gorgeous marble bathroom, a library and a spacious fifth-floor gym and swimming pool with views.

London Marriott Hotel Park Lane

This five-star hotel is only a minutes walk from Marble Arch and Hyde Park, boasting beautiful views across the greenery.

With an ideal location right on the famous Oxford St, this modern and trendy hotel also offers spacious suites (again with marble bathrooms…we’re sensing a theme here, Marriot), a gym, pool and spa, and a buzzing rooftop bar.

Other ones nearby  to consider are the Sheraton Park Lane or the JW Marriott.

Europe

Courtyard by Marriott Paris Gare de Lyon

Michele’s room
The view

This four-star property offers breathtaking views of some of the city’s most legendary landmarks. Featuring contemporary, comfortable rooms with stunning views, deluxe bedding and oversized TVs, the hotel is right near the train and Metro stations.

The on-site bistro provides a French-International menu, chock-full of fresh, locally grown produce, as well as delicious drinks and snacks throughout the day and evening.

Michele’s note: I have stayed at this hotel and it was a great place to stay. Personally, I think the Renaissance Paris Republique is a nicer hotel in a great location for walkable bars and restaurants. That costs from £250 in cash or 60,000 in points.

Renaissance Republique Paris

Hotel Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Paris

Originally opened in 1929, this gorgeous art deco hotel is just a few steps from the iconic Champs-Elysées. The rooms and suites are immaculately designed and appointed with home-like comforts; many offer sweeping views of the Paris skyline.

The serene Wellness Suite spa encourages relaxation and renewal, and the property also features a fitness centre. The on-site 19.20 cocktail and culinary memoir bar offers delightful drinking options and has recently been joined by the brand new Akira Back restaurant.

Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel

Ideally located in the heart of central Amsterdam, only minutes away from the Amsterdam Central Station, the iconic Dam Square and Madame Tussauds, the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is perfect for business travellers or tourists.

Featuring spacious accommodations with flat-screen TVs and a 24-hour fitness centre, the property also has an on-site bar, an Italian restaurant and a traditional Dutch café.

The Westin Excelsior, Rome

This property is a special one – located within one of the city’s most iconic palaces on the legendary Via Veneto, The Westin Excelsior is nestled between the Spanish Steps and the Borghese Gardens & Gallery.

This 5-star hotel features 281 rooms and 35 unique Signature Suites, including one of the most spectacular and opulent suites in Europe – the Villa La Cupola (usually reserved for celebs or heads of state).

Each room features luxurious décor complete with antique furniture and crystal chandeliers, as well as flat-screen TVs. There is also a a 300 m² wellness centre with a hot tub, a gym and an indoor swimming pool, as well as a variety of on-site dining and drinks options.

Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa

The iconic Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa rises above the Lisbon skyline, offering sweeping views of the city and the river Tagus. Comfortable, modern hotel accommodations, with luxurious bedding, marble bathrooms and a full in-room entertainment package.

The 1.500 sqm. Spirito SPA provides guests with an indulgent relaxation experience, with 7 treatment rooms and a double VIP suite, while the Panorama Restaurant and Bar offer dining or drinks with incredible views of the city skyline.

USA

Sheraton Sand Key Resort, Florida

This waterfront, family-friendly resorts sits along Florida’s Gulf Coast, offering the perfect location just moments away from the beach and popular nature trails. Guests can enjoy private beach access, as well as outdoor pools, a fitness centre and tennis courts. There are also five eateries to choose from.

Modern rooms and suites have private balconies or patios, as well as all the mod-cons including free Wi-Fi and flat-panel TVs with premium cable.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach

Traditional hotel rooms are replaced with residential studios and suites at this luxurious property, each with separate living spaces and all of which provide unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean. The resort is perfectly positioned along Waikiki Beach and fronted by Luxury Row shopping, with easy access to all the main attractions.

The hotel also features an elevated infinity pool above Waikiki with private cabanas and The Ritz-Carlton Spa, which offers customized treatments that highlight traditions from different cultures.

Several acclaimed dining options provide fresh, seasonal and locally inspired fare, and the boutique gourmet market allows guests to choose their own menu for the day.

JW Marriott Essex House New York

This luxury, Art Deco-inspired Manhattan hotel is ideally located across from Central Park South and minutes from Fifth Avenue and other popular NYC attractions. Distinctive, well-appointed hotel rooms and suites feature Art Deco touches, plush bedding, marble bathrooms (again) and minibars, as well as terraces overlooking Central Park.

Visitors can also take advantage of the fitness centre, indulge in an on-site spa treatment or enjoy a meal or drink at SOUTHGATE Bar & Restaurant.

The property also provides some pet-friendly accommodations.

Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel

This urban retreat in the heart of Midtown NYC offers intuitively designed, modern guest rooms and suites with a mid-century twist, where perks like high-speed Wi-Fi, luxurious bedding and deluxe amenities await. Times Square, Central Park, and Radio City Music Hall are all only a short walk away.

Guests can also enjoy a 4,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness centre, or choose instead to dine on ‘market-inspired’ cuisine at the on-site signature restaurant, Hudson Market. There are also cocktails and even Starbucks coffee on offer at the Library Bar.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection

Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, guests can indulge in oversized residential-styled living spaces with private terraces and breathtaking views of the Las Vegas skyline.

The resort’s one-of-a-kind Restaurant Collection features a range of world-class eateries, and guests are able to choose between three distinct pool experiences at The Pool District, which also provides excellent service and panoramic views.

Throw in a mix of hand-selected boutiques, a 100,000 square-foot casino, The Chelsea concert venue, Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub, and the serenity of Sahra Spa, Salon & Hammam – this resort stay will be like no other.

Michele’s note: I have stayed at the Cosmopolitan a couple of times – it has some of the best modern dining options on the strip and I love the iconic Chandelier bar. The pool is not my scene – crowded and loud in the summer. But otherwise, it’s a great choice in centre strip.

Wailea Beach Resort – Marriott, Maui

Located within steps of the ocean, Wailea Beach Resort provides stylish comfort along the water’s edge in beautifully appointed, family-friendly hotel rooms with ocean-inspired décor, mini-refrigerators, plush bedding and high-speed Wi-Fi.

The resort also features a modern fitness centre, championship-level golf courses and a tranquil spa. There are diverse dining options, private floating cabanas and a free, vibrant luau show.

Guests can take advantage of five different pools, one of which features the longest hotel water slide in all of Hawaii.

CARIBBEAN

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

Overlooking the Caribbean sands of Palm Beach, the beautifully-styled Aruba Marriott Resort boasts spacious accommodations on the sunny beaches of Aruba with exceptional resort amenities. Guests can enjoy spacious hotel rooms with plush designer bedding, private balconies and picturesque views.

There is also the thrilling 24-hour Stellaris Casino, the H2Oasis adults-only pool with private cabanas or a full-service spa. Seven on-site dining and drinks options complement the substantial offerings of this gorgeous resort.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman

This beachfront resort is the Cayman Islands only Five-Star hotel, and just 3 km from George Town. A range of luxurious and spacious rooms, suites and the ‘seven south’ apartments are spread across the resorts two towers, and are decorated in colours reflecting the stunning ocean outside. Many feature ocean views, and all feature luxurious fittings, WIFI, flat screen TVs and Marble bath with soaking tub.

There are also six distinct bars and restaurants, The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, a luxury spa and a retail boutique on-site.

ASIA

The Westin Tokyo

Situated in a quiet, upscale area of Tokyo, right near the popular Shibuya district, the central location of this hotel is what helps it really stand out. Rooms feature classic European décor and are all accompanied by the signature Heavenly® Bed. Many enjoy views of the iconic Tokyo Tower.

There is also a Westin Workout Fitness Studio on site, in addition to 5 restaurants, 2 executive bars and an European-style spa.

Did we miss any of your favourites? Let us know, and also tell us – which one are you excited to visit next? We’re pretty keen on Aruba, to be honest…but look, we will take anything at the moment. And we have to say, you can’t go wrong with any of these gorgeous properties.

Checking out the new No 1 lounge at @heathrow_airp Checking out the new No 1 lounge at @heathrow_airport T2. Very impressed with the elegant feel to the lounge. It’s definitely a step up from the older style of No1. I’d go as far to say that it looks better than quite a few airline lounges. All drinks are included apart from champagne and there was a good selection of tasty food as well. Full review coming soon. #airportlounge #heathrowairport #luxurytravel #no1lounge
